Well guys, I've been lurking around the board for the last day or so and I need some advice. Here's my current situation I'm 5'11 250 lbs. Some of this is still muscle mass left from football days but I've lost a lot of muscle mass in my legs and I think the BF % is now up to around 36%. I got down to 275 to 260 with atkins (for about 3 weeks last year) and I've steadly lost like 2 pounds a month until now. My goal is to get to around 220 by end of the year and I think ultimately to around 200 lbs. How much would adding some cardio do to my goals?

The thing I hate most about my physicque though is the breasts! I've always had them even when I was at like 180 (back in high school had less muscle mass then). I had not gut but had tits I don't know what to do to get rid of the? Maybe do more incline bench? I've lost most of my mass in my quadriceps because I had to take a 12 month layoff from lifting because of my knees until I lost some wheight.

I using a cytoplex shake as a protein meal replacement and I have some xeandrine but it's pretty strong and if I take more than 2 a day I'll get all weird so I might even hold off on the X for a while. If I the X then would I have to cut out any cardio? My cardio basically consists of basketball, but I may add something more traditional if need be.

Anyhelp or suggestions would be apprecaited.

Thanks

Patrick.

Yeah I would hold off on the Xenadrine for awhile and focus on diet and exercise....

Diet is the key when it comes to weight loss (as far as I'm concerned).

Eat clean and do an hour of cardio in the morning on an empty stomach....it worked for me....

you should also incorporate resistance training with weights into your regime because the more muscle you build, the more calories your body will burn (even at rest!!)

Eating clean sounds simple but it's the toughest part of any healthy lifestyle....you only spend an hour or so in the gym but you have to watch your diet all day long!!

Be realistic but be STRICT.....cut out sugary drinks (soda, etc.,) and avoid that unprocessed white flour....Stick with whole grains and fresh veggies as a carb source and eat lots of lean meat like chicken or tuna....

Stryc-9 is right on all counts. I will add a little to your chest problem. It sounds like you, like me, are genetically inclined to store fat in your chest. It will be as difficult for you to lose as your gut, if not moreso.

I'd concentrate on getting your weight down first. If it's still a problem after that, I'd seriously consider surgery. I did it about 7 years ago. One of the best decisions I ever made. But it's really only an option if you've gone completely balls-out with diet and excercise for an extended period. In a way, it's something you have to earn. If you haven't exhausted conventional weight loss strategies first, it won't work for you.
