New to the board! 6 month old pics (Coming out of eating disorder)

First of all... Hi everyone!

I've been lurking here for some time but only today have I had the guts to post. What better way to introduce myself than with some pictures :)

I'm a 23 year old singer/songwriter from London, UK. I also do quite a lot of modelling to help pay the bills. Being a model led to me having a serious eating disorder due to the pressure and competition in the business. I often didn't eat for days.

Anyway about 6 months ago I had a revelation... I kind of snapped out of my eating disorder and decided to make a positive change to my lifestyle and eating habits. I also began lifting weights.

These are some of my modelling pics from 6 months ago just as I was coming out of my eating disorder. As you can see my body is pretty awful. Very
little muscle.

Since then I have put on quite a lot of muscle and managed to keep my body fat pretty low. I will post some pictures of how I look now for comparison tomorrow. (It's 1:40am here! Ah yes I also suffer from insomnia)

I really wan't to take this seriously... Since I made the concious decision to improve my eating habits and to train 3 times a week I have felt infinately healthier. I plan on being a long time meber here also. I love this community and feel that with all the help and support you guys can give that I can really make the most of myself.

At least you have a great advantage. No fat to burn and seems like good genetics. Since you are plat, the best advice I can give you, search and read. Search and read. Search and read. While reading this board you'll get motivated to keep going. Everything is here. Congratulations on your change and you'll se results very soon. Just be focused and disciplined on what you want.
 
Good luck, train hard eat right and you will grow. I was 165 and now 205 natty, it can be done with hard work and dedication.

Heres a pic of how I look now, six months after sorting my life out.

Sorry it's such low quality but I don't have a digital camera... Had to use my phone camera. I haven't had any professionally done shots with my top off yet due to my terrible physique.

I now have a thin layer of fat covering my abs but I'm not too worried about it. The priority at the moment is to eat like a pig and put on muscle. I will be cutting later.

In my eyes I already look alot better, I certainly feel it.

My arms are now at 14.5" cold. I'm not sure what they were before but probably around 13". My chest has shot up to 40" cold from 38" six months ago.

I assume alot of these fast gains are down to "muscle" memory, from before my eating disorder. Even so I am very pleased.

I know I have a long road and a lot of hard work ahead of me. I really don't want to get very big unlike a lot of you. If I did it would probably mean a lot less work for me as I model mostly in the fashion. I just want to be healthy and fit with enough muscle to look like a man :)

If I can borrow someones digicam i'll take some much better pics for you all.

Definitely look like you put some weight on. Like those before me said, keep eating and training HARD and you'll get there - patience is key. And stick around, read and pay attention cause EF is full of very useful knowledge.
 
I was built like you when I started. I was 5'10 and 165 now after four years off and on I am 220. I am also 21. Good luck and grow.
 
I'd take your looks over bein big anyday bro. you're lucky for that. I don't really have anything to say other than what's already been said.

I have been working extremely hard since I posted my pics and have put on 9lb's so far and my bodyfat percentage has only gone up a little. My bottom two abs are now hidden a little but I plan on cutting up for the summer.

This has been a life changing experience for me and I have never felt better. Thanks to the wealth of information on this site I have been able to train to the best of my abilities and my diet is now pretty good.

haha i just saw how many times yomama got bombed. Damn I hate that cocksucker lol.

Gordyr - keep in the gym and EAT. Those are key to adding some size to you. Don't even consider any kind of cardio or running for quite awhile. Before I started working out I was worse off than you. Very very skinny, no muscle, and NEVER ate because I just wasn't really hungry. Since then I've put on quite a bit of weight and look much better. PM me if you want any advice fella!

Thanks Khemix... Thats exactly what I plan on doing. I have gained alot since the "after" pic I posted, I'll have to add some new ones soon as my gains have been very quick now that I have my training and diet in check.

I'm eating about 3500 cals a day which from what I can gather is a decent amount for somone of my bodyweight.

I'm annoyed today though as I have had to put off my leg day until tomorrow. I did chest/triceps on Monday and hit them far harder than I ever have done before. I still have severe DOMS in my chest so thought it best to wait untill tomorrow since squatting puts such a strain on the whole body. Good move or should I just have ploughed through? I was just worried about overtraining.

Heres a more recent pic. My chest is finally filling out a little more. Only thing is my abs are now almost completely covered in fat and are only visible in certain light. It's annoying but I can live with that for now.

Maybe I should tweak my diet? I seem to be gaining muscle very well just a little bit too much fat for my liking. I can always cut later though.

I have been toying with the idea of trying an HST cycle in the not too distant future. Everything I have read has been very positive regarding HST. Is there anyone who could give me any good reasons not to give it a go?

I'm ecstatic with my progress. All the advice and information I have gotten from you guys really has been invaluable. I realise I have a long way to go and buy most of your standards am still a skinny little runt but in my eyes I have improved dramatically. And I guess thats what really counts.

I wish I had some pictures of my shirt off when I was suffering with anorexia. Just so you guys can see how bad it really was.

I'm about 2 weeks into my cutting phase now. I really want my abs back for the summer. They are still quite visible but I really don't like the small amount of fat I have gained on my bottom set. Maybe it's a frame of mind left over from my eating disorder I don't know... But I really can't bare to see it.

I know most of you will jump down my throat and say keep bulking. But please bare in mind that my goals are much more modest than most of yours. I have no desire to be huge. I just wanted to feel and look like a man for the first time in a long while. After my summer holiday I'll be straight back on the bulk :)

Just for your information I have gained 11 lb's since begining training most of which I believe to be lean mass, only a little is fat. I am up a total a total of 17 lb's since my anorexic days.

Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of having my chest waxed or shaving it. My girlfriend along with most of the ladies I know over the age of 20 all seem to like a bit of hair so i'm a little unsure. Do you think it would do much for my appearance? Maybe i'll just try it for my summer vacation in June.
 
yea looks a lot better than that skinny guy in the first post, starting to get a nice v taper, some traps and chest. Dude you dont have very much fat on you, dont worry about the cutting. I used to be like that, when my bottom abs disapered I would do cardio, but the best way to put on a lot of muscle is to have some fat with you. Keep it up though
 
Good job bro!!! keep it up! your gains will continue. Shave that chest and abs. You'll look better. Keep reading this board. Everyday we have new information here.

Thanks for the comments and inspiration guys. You're a real source of motivation for me. :)

I'm going to take the plunge and give my chest/stomach a shave tonight. I've been wanting to do it for some time now but my girlfriend always tells me how much manlier it is to have a hairy chest. Still... It will always grow back.
