Just wanted to say "what up" to you all.

I came across this forum while searching for information.

I don't compete in body building but am into fitness.

I had a long layoff from my routine, and am trying to get back into the swing of things, and have recently become interested in hormone therapies etc.

My big issue is that I have the mental toughness and tenacity to do the work required to get the look I want out of my body, but being a bit older now, the recovery time is not like it used to be, and the gains are hard to come by.

For the most part, I am losing some weight, and toning muscles but I'd like to start getting bigger and leaner. I tried dianabol in the past on a short cycle when I was younger. Now I am older, and have a couple of sports injuries that slow me down but don't stop me.

I want to train hard and strengthen my weak areas without doing any damage to my joints or ligaments.

I plan on seeing my doctor first to see what he can do for me, and then take it from there depending on what he says. I am hoping he prescribes me something that will be covered by my prescription card, but if he doesn't I'll try to procure my own.

I've read the forum for a couple of days before deciding to join and post. Do you guys have any tips for me? I am relatively inexperienced with anabolics outside the one time an old time buddy hooked me up with a cycle of oral Dianabol - methandrostenolone - .

Yah this has red flags all over it, but I am just a regular Joe, who wants to improve his quality of life, and was hoping some of you more experienced folks would chime in without confusing me too much.

Thanks.

OK...6' 215 lbs. Arms 17 1/2 inches, chest 48, waist 36 (yuck)
42 years old. The only history I have is that I did one 8 week cycle about 20 years ago of dianabol.

Right now, I have been tweaking my diet eating lean meats, vegetables and fruits, and am eating whey protein milkshakes.

My workouts consist of high reps with lighter weights as my initial goal is to condition my body, joints and ligaments again to weight lifting and to tone up and shed some fat.

I also do a lot of cardio, mostly treadmill, but the high reps with the lighter weights serves as cardio too. As I tone and get back into shape, I am going to back off cardio somewhat, back off the heavy reps with the lighter weights, and then start doing low reps with heavier weights.

My longterm goal is to get big and work on strengthening some weak areas (old injuries). Later on, say after another month or so on this routine, if I feel ready, I will change my workout for adding size and strength. By then I should have gotten my waist down to where I want it, and have the kind of stamina I used to have, and then, I can back of cardio, and start working towards getting bigger.

I've been doing this for almost a month, this is the beginning of the 4th week, and I lost 15 lbs, without reducing my calorie intake or losing any size on my arms chest etc. I am starting to get stronger and a bit cut, and I can see my abs starting to develop, and my clothes are fitting a bit better. I only want to do a cycle when I feel I am ready for it. Not quite there yet imo, but now is the time to educate myself about it.

Once I start moving towards getting bigger, I'd like to maintain it properly, and above all, if I do this at all, I want to do it right. I just want to do a cycle somewhere along the line this year to add size, and I am committed to changing my lifestyle back to an earlier time in my life where my physical fitness was a priority in my life.

Thanks for the warm welcome all of you gave me.

Welcome my friend.... Getting back into it and staying dedicated is the hardest part... it looks like you have done a good job of it so far... Before you jump into steroids id recommend trying some great products that can help give you a huge boost... Phyto-Testosterone and Dermacrine from PrimordialPerformance.com is a great place to start... Just look around and see the posts about how happy people have been... I have used Dermacrine with great results and am just in the middle of week 2 with my phyto-testosterone... Stack that together for 4-8 weeks and you are doing lean gains.. Amp02, Lipoflame and RawCC from agxsports.com is great stuff too, currently using both and loving it.... Again, welcome to the board, read up, take as much info in as you can and we wish you a happy, healthy and lean 08!

Is this stuff you mentioned available at like a GNC or can you only get it online? I've been reading some comments on Amp02, and Lipoflame, but don't quite understand what it does except maybe energize your workouts.

I'll look into Phyto-Testosterone, and Dermacrine as well as RawCC.
I need to read up on Creatine as well.

Basically, I am here to educate myself, and once I feel comfortable and feel I am ready, I might try a cycle, but hell that could be 6 months from now, for all I know. These other things might be enough for me for now, to help me get through the days when my energy is a little low.

Yeah... A LOT of people are satisfied with the products... Derma and Phyto increase your T-levels like no other product... The lipostack (Amp02 and lipoflame) give you focus and pumps like no product out there... I dont know if you ever took a product with ephedra, but the lipoflame is comparable to that, but without the nasty sides... I dont want to come off as a salesman man, I am speaking from experience.. I have no ventured interest in sharing this, but the products work... After getting minimal results from GNC stuff, I finally found stuff that works... Great products from great people man... no bull...I am just one man's opinion, but look around and you will see nothing but great feedback on all of these products...

Good luck with your goals... if you need anything else man, dont be afraid to ask!

He's definitely telling the truth here. I'm about the same stats as yourself but older and tried about everything out there. Let me tell you that dermacrine is well worth the money. I have never recieved as good a result as I have on this. I have done two cycles of it and just ordered more for a third cycle. Especially at our age the old test levels hit the dirt, but believe me, you will feel the difference on this stuff. I guess you can say that it has become a daily substance as any other supplement and I have been on Androgel from the Doctor which never gave the results both in energy, libido, and drive that this stuff has  . I even ordered their new CLA to try with it to help shed them extra lbs for the summer. :daisy:

Welcome to Elite Fitness. At 42 you are still young and you have alot of potential with some challenges. I honestly would never recommend using hormonal options until your connective tissues, ligaments, etc can stand up to new demands on skeletal muscle tissue with the introduction of exogenous hormones. I think you mentioned getting connective tissues up to par and that is a good thing to do for a couple of years (could be less) before considering TRT for instance. Your stats even with a 36 inch waist doesn't sound all that bad and can easily be manipulated for the better.

What is your end goal overall?

What is your first goal on the road to your overall goal? Summer isn't too far away and a midlife crisis may say, "Look really good for the beach while I'm crusing in my convertible Panoz for the chicks.:

You can get a ton of responses ranging from HIT to circuit training. What is your first short term goal?

Thanks, you guys are great.

One question.....what is HIT?

My first goal is to slim down and tone up. Not sure how long that is going to take or when I'll feel I am at my optimum weight. I guess I can use my waist size to measure that. I'd probably then be achieving that goal when I got down to a 30. I then want to gradually add weight to my routine and start dropping reps once I achieve that goal. By Spring, I'd like to start lifting heavier and getting bigger.

What I'd like to know is should I really wait one or two years before I tried this? One of the reasons I want to add size is 1.) well it just looks good, but the real reason is that according to some doctors, it's hard to add muscle mass once you read a certain age, and that mass has to last you your whole life. So, I want to get bigger, and then try to maintain it as long as I can.

What about things like Demacrine, or Phytotestosterol? Should I wait longer before trying any of that stuff as well, or should the same rule apply with those products, that I should wait till my I feel my joints and ligaments are ready?

All I am doing at the present are Protein shakes, a multivitamin, and a combo of MSM, Glucosamine, and Chondroiton to protect my joints etc. I can wait if that is what I have to do, and rather'd be safe then sorry later.

HIT = high intensity training
