Hello all,
been lurking here and at the other site. My story is common fat guy , yo-yo dieting started doing well about 8 years ago and ended up getting divorced. Gained all the weight back plus some. Recently went to the eye doctor and he said that if I dont wise up I will be blind by 60.
So I decided that it was time to put up or shut up!!!

Thus began the journey...

Started on Feb 6th 2012, 4 days after my 41st birthday, I was 360 LBS. Major bodyfat, out of shape. Type II diabetes. wasnt taking my meds. I just didnt care about anything. My diet consisted of chips pizza candy and 12 - 15 pounders of beer everynight. (no exaggeration) I was a train wreck.

Since then, I have started to diet and go to the Gym 5 days a week. I eat carbs only in the morning and taper off during the day. Primarily fish, chicken, cottage cheese and once in a while red meat coupled with veggies.
I lift 5 days a week and do cardio 5 days a week.

So far I have lost 50 pounds as of today. I've been checking my sugar levels for the last 2 weeks and they have been consistantly normal. between 86 and 108. I feel great and my 1st challenge is to get under 300. It will be the first time in 14 years!! Over all goal is to drop down to 200 and go back up to 225 the right way. I appreciate these forums and any and all advice. Although not put to good practice, I am fairly well read on nutrition and the like but i am no expert. I do some things that seem absurd for my weight and current fitness level (supplementation etc..) but I know what works for me..lol

welcome to not living like a jack ass and not eating like a POS.
How do you let yourself get that much of a mess, I mean you have a done good work recently... but what the fuck were you doing with the rest of your life?

Well Captain Brutal,
Contrary to your perfectness... There are people out there who struggle with life's issues. There are many many lousy things that happened to me growing up and still haunt me now. However there is no excuse for the way I lived my past 40 years. So I choose to not focus on that. Nor do I wish to dwell or second guess mysef. I choose to progress further and further and make the best I can out of the rest of my life. Oh yeah, thanks for the welcome and nice to meet you too!!!

You have a good attitude. Welcome to the board. Everyone gives everyone shit here. It's a way of life.

Welcome to the boards bro! Glad to have you and congrats on your progress. Just for the record bro, if you post here in chat, you do so at your own risk. The gloves are off in this section and thick skin is a requirement.
