Here's my situation...

My room mate (who owns the house) refuses to let me bring any meat into the house other than T-bone, scotch fillet, chuck and blade (I think) due to religious reasons.

When I go out I order top round or sirloin, but which of the above options would be the best choice?

Sirloin Steak is probably going to have the least fat and most protein. But your roomate sounds weird he won't let you bring in lean ground turkey or tuna?

more info. WHAT religious reasons.. Kosher? Halal?

Top sirloin is probably the lowest in fat content (as stated already), but man.....a good, BBQ'd Tbone is the best. I'll get top sirloin ground up at the butcher and then mix it in with 9-12 eggs and scramble with a bit of BBQ sauce - great meal!

Yeah, he's Kosher.

He only gets meat from a Kosher butcher. Lean Turkey, chicken and fish isn't a problem, it's just the beef because I believe only the forequarter is Kosher (?)

Anyway, which Kosher cuts of meat stated in my first post would be the best option, and how would it compare to top round (the leanest cut)?

I think tha he being the owner of the house and everything kind of grants him some special treatment.... but it must be a pest having to eat what the other party considers appropiate...

He isnt REALLY keeping kosher, or he wouldnt let you eat a damn thing that he didnt know FOR SURE was either Glatt or Pareve, and you would most certainly be eating off of different plates.. sooooo... have a talk with him. Short of that, GO to a kosher butcher and ask for the leanest cuts, talk with man with the bloody apron, his is your friend.
