Need a routine for my first PH cycle: GVT vs. 5x5

Both Needsize's 5x5 and the original GVT interest me. In a couple months I'm going to do my first cycle ever, with One+. My goal will simply be mass. Which routine should I go for?

And for how many days? Some people say to do 3 days/wk as normal and just add an extra set (I don't even know how this would work with these routines). In the product description off the web site, I quote: "In my opinion, if you are on the high moderate to high dosing and on a mass phase, and you are not spending at least 7 hours in the gym per week, you are quite likely undertraining." So that would be 6 days a week. I don't want to overtrain, but I want to make the absolute most of this cycle.

Little help?

7 hours in the gym per week as a minimum is just plain retarded. I'd say I'm a pretty advanced trainer and I rarely ever train more than 4x per week, with a max of 6 hours per week in the gym; and thats including the 20+ of warmup I do prior to every session

GVT, is a high volume protocol that is striclty for building mass. It is a good program, but you will lose strength on it eventually.

5x5 helps w/ strength and size games. Both programs are good, the only thing I can rcomend is try both and see which one you prefer.

In Poliquin's description of GVT, he talks about supersets, and the different rest time if doing them. But I can't figure out what he's talking about supersetting, or if it's necessary. Can anyone explain it to me?

When Poliquin talks about supersets here is an example:

A1 Bench Press 4 sets

A2 barbell Row 4 sets

You do the bench press first then do a set of rows after that..Then bench press again than rows...so you go from A1 to A2 then A1 to A2 again for as many sets as perscribed..

This is different from the traditional approach of doing 4 straight sets of chest then 4 straight sets of back.

So is training this way a better alternative?

Where do the 90 second rests come into play? After each set of rows before doing chest again?
