NCAA rules for football

Is there an age limit for fist time college athlets to play ball? I read thru the rules regarding eligibility and found nothing solid. They mentioned something to the effect of a player is ineligible to compete if their first year of competition is 5 years of more after the completion of their fisrt full semester of college.

Anybody know if there is a set age limit? Anybody?

I know there have been many who have played after getting out of the service. I even remember hearing of guys in their late 30's playing ball at small schools after leaving the military. If you want to give it a shot, go for it, and have a blast.
