*No. 21 North Carolina seeks to complete sweep of Maryland*

Maryland (16-10) at No. 21 North Carolina (18-6) 5:30 pm EST

CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- With the Atlantic Coast
Conference tournament getting closer, North Carolina wants to
play one less contest.

The 21st-ranked Tar Heels look for their eighth win in nine
games as they try to sweep the regular-season series against
Maryland on Sunday.

The defending NCAA champion, North Carolina (18-6, 9-4 ACC)
began the weekend in third place in the conference. The top
four teams get a first-round bye in the ACC Tournament.

David Noel scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 11
rebounds and Reyshawn Terry added 20 for the Tar Heels, who won
their fifth straight ACC road game - a 95-71 victory over North
Carolina State on Wednesday.

Although it has dropped six of its last eight games, Maryland
(16-10, 6-7) is ranked second in the conference in scoring
(80.0), the 12th-best mark in the nation.

Nik Caner-Medley scored 19 points and Ekene Ibekwe added 15 for
the Terrapins, who shot just 31 percent (8-of-26) from the floor
in Wednesday's 71-60 loss to Florida State.

Averaging 16.6 points in conference play, Caner-Medley needs 13
points to become the 15th player in school history to reach
1,500 in his career.

Trailing at the half, North Carolina outscored Maryland by 17
points in the final 20 minutes of a 77-62 triumph in their
previous matchup on February 2. The teams have split their last
10 encounters.
