SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota
Timberwolves hope to begin a late surge towards the postseason
when they visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday.
The Timberwolves opened the campaign with wins in 12 of their
first 18 games but have posted a 14-28 mark since December 12.
Garnett scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds Wednesday, but
Minnesota dropped a 96-93 decision to the Utah Jazz.
Marko Jaric scored 20 points and rookie Rashad McCants added 16
for the Timberwolves, who trail the eighth-place Los Angeles
Lakers (32-30) by five games in the Western Conference
standings.
The SuperSonics enter Friday's contest with losses in 12 of
their last 16 games, including a 99-74 defeat to the Memphis
Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Ray Allen scored 18 points to pace Seattle, which shot just 34
percent.
