*Spurs hope to grab first place in Southwest*
---------------------------------------------

LA Lakers (32-30) at San Antonio (48-13) 8:30 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs
look to move into sole possession of first place in the
Southwest Division when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on
Friday.

The defending NBA champions, the Spurs have been in a fight
with the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 1 Western Conference
seed.

San Antonio kept pace with Dallas on Thursday, posting an
impressive 117-93 victory over Phoenix, the favorite to win
the Pacific Division and the No. 2 seed in the conference.

Parker scored 29 points and backcourt mate Manu Ginobili added
18 for the Spurs, who shot 55 percent in the contest.

San Antonio can take the divisional lead from Dallas (48-13),
which posted a 109-92 triumph over Portland on Thursday but is
idle on Friday.

The Spurs hope to do so against a Lakers squad which has won
four of its last six contests and owns a 1 1/2-game lead over
Sacramento (30-31) for eighth place in the conference
standings.

Kobe Bryant scored 40 points and Lamar Odom added 18 and 17
rebounds Wednesday as Los Angeles topped the New Orleans
Hornets, 113-107.

The NBA's leading scorer, Bryant is averaging 41.3 points over
his last four contests.

*Paul, Hornets hope to end slide against struggling Pacers*
-----------------------------------------------------------

Indiana (30-28) at New Orleans (31-29) 8:00 pm EST

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Rookie sensation Chris Paul and the
New Orleans Hornets hope to avoid matching their longest losing
streak of the season when they host the Indiana Pacers on
Friday.

One of the NBA's biggest surprises earlier this season, the
Hornets have dropped four straight and have fallen into a
virtual tie with the eighth-place Los Angeles Lakers (32-30) in
the Western Conference standings.

Paul collected 22 points and 10 assists Wednesday, but the
Hornets dropped a 113-107 decision to the Lakers.

David West scored 25 points and Speedy Claxton added 22 off the
bench for the Hornets, who have yielded an average of 104.3
points during their skid.

The Hornets have not dropped five straight since December 3-11.
They hope to avoid equaling that total Friday against a Pacers
squad which has dropped five of its last eight.

Despite owning a lead throughout Wednesday's contest with
Houston, Indiana faltered down the stretch en route to a 103-99
loss.

Peja Stojakovic scored 29 points and Stephen Jackson added 23
for the Pacers, who managed just 11 points in the fourth
quarter.

Wrong info.

So nice to see that frak Duncan and his lame ass team lose.

That is the most boring team to watch ever.
