*Brand faces former team as Clippers visit Bulls*

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Elton Brand and the Los Angeles Clippers
hope to carry some momentum from one of their most impressive
wins of the season when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
The Clippers ended their two-game skid Tuesday with a 98-85
victory over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs.
Brand scored 30 points and Sam Cassell added 15 and 11 assists
for Los Angeles, which held a 40-28 rebounding edge and
outscored San Antonio by 14 after the break.
"I think it was a combination of both (offense and defense),"
Brand said of the moment the Clippers took charge. "We stepped
up our defense by contesting every shot, and our offense fed off
of our defense."
Selected No. 1 overall by the Bulls in the 1999 draft, Brand
was traded to the Clippers in June 2001.
Chicago looks to rebound from a heartbreaking 106-101 loss to
the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
Ben Gordon scored 28 points and reserve Andres Nocioni chipped
in 23 for the Bulls, who posted a 97-91 triumph over the
Clippers on February 12 in the first meeting between the teams
this season.
