*Nowitzki, Mavericks continue tough road stretch against Jazz*

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks
hope to build on their slight lead in the Western Conference when
they visit the Utah Jazz on Saturday.
The Mavericks have won 22 of their last 25 and enter Saturday's
contest with a one-half game lead over the San Antonio Spurs
(48-14) for first place in the Southwest Division and home-court
advantage in the playoffs.
Nowitzki scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Thursday as
Dallas opened a three-game road trip with a 109-92 triumph over
Portland.
Jason Terry scored 19 points and reserve Marquis Daniels added
13 for the Mavericks, who play nine of their next 12 games on
the road.
Dallas, which dropped a 93-82 decision here in its second
season of the season, hopes to exact revenge Saturday against
a Utah squad which posted a 96-93 victory over Minnesota on
Wednesday.
Rookie Deron Williams scored 24 points and Andrei Kirilenko
added 15, 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Jazz, who have
won four of their last six.
