Nandrolone decanoate ?

I have been reading on nandrolone decanoate and from what I have gathered it is a progestin.
Depo provera is a progesterone
We all know that depo is pure EVIL so what is the difference between the two? Are they not functioning thru the same basic mechanism?

I am certain there is a fatal flaw somewhere in my thinking on this but BUMP as I can't figure it out. Dosing makes the difference, different chemical structure? Why does one work well as a cutting drug and the other is fat in a syringe??????

deca CONVERTS to progesterone (who knows how much) like trenbolone as opposed to other drugs that convert to estrogen.

I've never thought of deca as a cutting drug. One of my old gfs used to take depo........she gained 10lbs. I thought about taking it then.

I think it was Dslgirl that said she liked it for cutting but cutting is diet anyway. Still wish someone would answer this as I may go crazy trying to figure it out on my own....
NYM - so it converts to progestin but progestin as a BC causes fat gain or is it something else about the depo provera that causes the ugly sides????

Thank you Lobo - that was very diplomatic considering the reply options that I gave you LOL. I know that I have no other option and this has nothing to do with my decision. It was just one of those questions that popped into my head and now I simply cannot get it out until I know the answer. It is really hell being me sometimes.

If I remember, nandrolone by virtue of its structure has some progestagenic actions (some OC progesterones are 19-nor derived) but do NOT possess the anabolic or androgenic actions of nandrolone because of their chemical modifications. Nandrolone aromatizes to primarily estrone, not estradiol.

Progesterones cause weight gain because of their effects on appetite. This is why they were used for HIV related wasting early on.

Estrogen is the fat repartitioning agent, although P, esp the 19-nor derived types may cause water retention.

W6 nailed this right on as far as I can tell.

Nandrolone will aromatize primarily to dihydronandrolone, which is androgenic, but very little oestrogen will be created.

Also, there are varying forms of progestinic compounds. Each has it's own properties and levels of activity in the body. Nandralone does have SOME progestinic properties directly, but it is apparently not highly active at the receptor like the real deal.
