Since asked I thought it would be a great thread to start I will start with the basics. There eye shadows are hands down the best in the business. If you go to a free standing MAC store or online I highly recommend getting them in pallet form then and putting them in a quad saves you time, space and money.

These 4 are best basic MAC eye shadows regardless of eye colour:

Vanilla (best brow bone highlight hands down)

Soft Brown (great transition colour from between the lid and brow bone, also if you have blue eyes pop city with this looks amazing)

Cork (great in the crease colour also can be used to fill in eye brows if you have medium to dark brown even auburns hair could get away with this for blondes omega is a perfect eye brow colour.

Satin taupe (with this you can do a simple subtle Smokey eye)

Two other good to have colours but most find intimidating cause they are so dark is espresso and carbon they are great to use to darken the outer v and crease also can be used to line the eyes.

Another amazing MAC product regardless of skin and eye colour is there pigment in vanilla looks amazing on the inner corner of eyes also a great cheek bone highlighter I could do a whole other thread on the many amazing uses for this one love it!

For Phoenix and other green eyed ladies I would recommend these 4 as well:
Cranberry
Embark
Beauty Marked
Sketch

All of them have a red undertone which makes green pop as it is the complement colour these are all darker colours for the crease.

Oh Mulch is also another really good green eye colour :) Also as a lid colour Expensive Pink is great too!

I just checked these out on MAC online and I love the Cranberry and Embark. What other color would u use with it for the inner? I have Vanilla and and white frost for below the brow already.

Expensive Pink is great for the lid as well as Vex that was my first MAC eye shadow and still one of my all time favorites.

Now I know not everyone wants to drop the big dollars on MAC or high end but I am telling you it is worth it better colour pay off which means you use way less product so you are buying product less often.

However in any makeup line you can find the right product for your eye colour by just using basic colour theory.

Green eyes on the colour wheel opposite green is read this is the complementary colour which will really bring out the green in your eyes. Now that may seem scary red on the eyes but apply it in the fashion of red undertones for example reddish browns or reddish–violet colours.

Blue eyes pop with orange again to apply it your are looking for orangey browns, colours like ambers and coppers will really pull out that blue and so will peaches.

Hazel and brown eyes pop with violet toned colours so anything in the berry type shades are going to really bring out brown eyes nicely.

Yes, not only does MAC last a long time, but if you save 6 of your empty products you can turn them in for a free lipstick. :)
