i didnt get to sleep until real early in the morning (nerves). i was also VERY hungry until after weigh-ins. weiged 238.5 so i got to 242s

met my friend there and warmed up and listened to some heavy music

1st attempt - 320 (wr) good. held it at lockout for 10 seconds, dont know what the deal was there. 3 whites

2nd attempt - 375 (wr) good. the judges got confused and i ended up pausing for TEN SECONDS. 3 whites

3rd attempt - 405 miss. it flew up but it seems it sunk into my chest after they said press

4th attempt (which they weren't let me have, usually have to make all your lifts) - 405 good. flew up pretty fast

damn good day. had a lot of fun

i met andy fiedler and talked to him for about a minute. he's so fucking huge its unbelievable. i got a pic of him and a friend of mine

my shirt is still very loose and i am only getting about 100 lbs out of it. will probably get another one later and use this one for openers/backup in case the new one blows out. none of my lifts stalled or anything so i have a bit more in me, its just a matter of putting it all together

i had somebody take pics for me and as soon as i get them, i'll post them

Good work man, that shirt will work good if you end up weighing right at 242 some time.

oh i forgot to mention. the 375 is the world record. the 4th attempts were for personal records only

I'm so glad you finally picked a path, stuck with it, did what you had to do, and finished shining. Hopefully this is just the start to many more great accomplishments.

andy fiedler and friend

this pic really doesnt do andy any justice at all. he looks so fucking huge in person its unbelievable. i cant say that enough. his size really really impressed me. to give you an idea, the kid standing next to him weighed probably 315 in the pic, and andy is only 5'7. he actually had quite a bit of vascularity. biggest shoulders, chest, traps, arms, i've ever seen. had pants on so i couldnt see the wheels and i forgot to ask him what he does for squats

thanks guys

Jeremy, On a side note, How do your friends react to your success at these meets? Are they all for it, or Do they say the old "Oh I could do that if..." BS or "why would anyone..."? Just curious.

or Do they jump on the bandwagon and want to start training to get big and strong?

some are the usual 'oh i could do that' and some are genuinely impressed.

over the internet, on other message boards, it can be terrible. there's a bunch of no-names having NEVER competed belittling lifters and their equipment, what they look like (which has nothing to do at all with my sport), the judging at meets, the federations that sanction the meets. its terrible between lifters and fans of lifting as opposed to people who dont know much about it. lots of bickering. hopefully things get better.

yeah, some guys usually want to start training but they end up quitting after a couple weeks or start doing things half-assed. most of the guys i talk to about it train anyway and these are the kind of guys i associate with. they ask what i do for training, wish me luck, etc

You are ahead of the game. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. Keep on doing what you're doing. Good luck!
