The soldier in the beginning was shot in the chest with a rifle. He was unscathed, I watched an interview with him. They recovered the video from the insurgent's bodies.

On the guy hit in the chest: He was an 18D(SF Medic) and they had just pulled up there. He got hit in the chest plate, notice how he quickly went behind the opposite tire(good tactics) Then the team went after the insurgents, took them down and one of the insurgents was hit pretty bad. The medic(the guy who first got hit) then worked on the insurgent they took down and saved his life. That is a hard job, if someone shoots me in the chest chances are 5 minutes later I'm saying fuck off instead of saving his life.
