Muscle memory

Anyone ever been in a situation where they took a break from bodybuilding or got injured? I had surgery and had to miss 5 months of training. I'm getting ready to get back in the gym but I'm torn whether I should add AAS on day 1 to help speed up muscle memory and how much less I need to get back to my old self. I hear you don't need much to get back to your prime.


Anyone have any muscle memory experiences and how much juice was used to get back to your former glory?
 
Yes. I've written of a back injury putting me on my ass for 16 weeks. I came back and used 60% of my old numbers and took about 8 weeks to get back the 10lbs I lost
 
using steroids day 1 is a dumb idea. i 100% guarantee you will only injure yourself

taking breaks are going to happen, especially if you aren't deloading. i find it hilarious how young guys in their 20's think they can workout 7 days a week forever. it doesn't work like that once you get closer to 40. i find someone on some day getting in my car to go to the gym and then having to stop myself cause i know my body needs a break

anyway in your situation give it a couple months to get back your muscle conditioning and then you can start up steroids again. don't be stupid here
 
its a horrible idea to just start using steroids right after a layoff like that... ask steve said, you are only going to hurt yourself worse... take advantage of this time to gain everything back naturally and take your time getting back into the flow of things after a long injury man
 
Muscle memory is very real.

You are going to make a lot of noobie gains just getting back into weight training. Milk those first and then run a steroid cycle.
