It's a simplification but yes. ANY of the big compound moves have some effect as does the shorter workouts. If you managed to nap right after a workout then you'd get the best all round natural GH release.
Why would the body produce more GH if you sit in the basement playing video games all day? there is no reason. when you do these compound lifts the body will have a reason to release more growth and testosterone too.
but you need your nutrition to be on point #1. if you are deficient in minerals and have poor gut health, you aren't producing shit either way
Plus it's kinda obvious. Think about why the body responds to the kind of stress weightlifting is. Then add in time, energy, nutrition and recovery = forced adaption. It's not gonna happen with concentration curls.
