Hello all,

I read this forum some times and a frequent question I see is asking how you can make money and how to work for yourself.

Making money is something I know a little bit about. This is an excerpt from a new eBook that I'm writing about how to make money online.

For those of you that will listen, I'm going to tell your today how to make lots of cash. In this letter, I'll tell you about three of the easiest money making methods around, they take no investment, and you can work from home. Sounds like unwelcome spam you would get in an email right? We'll read on.

These are really great methods and although I usually charge for my advice, I'm going to share this with you for free. It works no matter how much time you have to spend doing it. One hour a day is fine or got more time? Make more money.

First off, this system deals with affiliate programs like the EliteFitness.com Affiliate Program. Affiliate programs are great, but like most things, most people do not make a dime in an affiliate program. I'll tell you why most make nothing and I'll tell you how to not end up like most people - I'll also share with you a few methods that some smart folks use to make a killing. First, I'll tell you about affiliate programs in general, then I'll share a few secrets about how to make money with one.

Ok, for those that really don't know what an affiliate program is, I'll tell you. An affiliate program is a revenue share agreement. If you can get people to come to my site and buy things, I will pay you money. That's all there is to it. You send me visitors and I'll pay you a percentage of what they spend.

How do you select a good affiliate program? Glad you asked. The programs you should be interested in will all have a few things in common. I'll start by describing the EliteFitness.com Affiliate Program and tell you what's important.

With my program, you earn a 50% commission on every sale. Obviously, the more you earn on each sale, the more you make. But for most affiliates, you need to make something significant on EVERY sale or you're not likely to do well over the long term. The average order at EliteFitness.com is $50. So if you send someone to Elite and they spend $50, you get $25. (not bad right?)
Earn a 10% commission on your sub-affiliates. Let's say you don't have a web site, but your friend does. If you get him to join the EliteFitness.com Affiliate program, he will get a 50% commission on the sales his visitors generate and you will get 10%. In our example above, for a $50 sale, he will get $25 and you will get $5 (EliteFitness.com gets the remainder $45). More about how to make money this way in a minute.
A 90 day cookie -- With one click today, you get paid on everything that's sold for three months. This is so important and most affiliates do not know anything about this at all. Here's a secret, most of the time, someone who comes to EliteFitness.com does not buy something right away - the same is true for all ecommerce sites. With a 90 day cookie, it doesn't matter when he buys, because if he comes back 10 times and buys something two months later, you still get paid. How much do you get paid? 50%
Monthly payments made through PayPal -- no more waiting for checks. You would not believe how long some programs make you wait to be paid. Some programs hold your money until you have earned $100 or more in commissions and pay you 90 days later. You wait and wait and wait. We pay monthly right to your paypal account for the prior month. No waiting.
Realtime Tracking and Reporting - Important so you can see how you're doing.
We provide all the necessary tools and marketing material. Self explanatory.
Free to join, easy to get started. This is not some ponzi scheme - you should not have to pay money for the "opportunity."

One other thing that's important with any affiliate program is a site's conversion. Conversion is a ratio of how many visitors become customers. If you send a ton of people to a site and they never buy a thing, it does not matter how good the affiliate program deal looks on paper - you won't make any money. There are usually two reasons for poor conversion - first, maybe you're sending the wrong kind of traffic. If your sending folks to EliteFitness.com and your site is for the "fat is beautiful" movement, you probably won't have much in the way of conversion. Another reason some affiliate programs don't convert is that they just plain suck and don't convert for anyone. If you find your in a program like this, drop it.

One good way to know if a program appears like it will be promising is to look at its Alexa.com rating. Alexa lists the sites on the web from largest to smallest. The smaller the Alexa ranking, the bigger the site - when last I checked, google and yahoo were number 1 and 2. Another thing to look at is a sites google.com pagerank. The higher the sites pagerank, the bigger the site. Download the google tool bar to check out a sites pagerank.

Ok, now that you know what a good affiliate program is, I'm going to tell you how to make money in the program - even if you don't have any web site at all or even if you don't have a popular web site.

Step one: Join the EliteFitness.com Affiliate Program. What I'm going to tell you works for any program, but we'll assume your going to join my program. Here's the signup page.

Once you have signed up, you will get a link or URL. The link will look like this:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername

You cannot market your EliteFitness.com Affiliate link on our own boards, if someone is here, they are already our potential customer - we want new potential customers. In fact, EliteFitness.com affiliate code does not work on our forums, so your actual code will not have a _ between the g. and the o like the links on this page will. One cool thing about your EliteFitness.com link is that it does not look like affiliate code. So I recommend that when you pick an affiliate username, you keep it real short and simple. For example, your affiliate username can be a four digit number say 5544 - then your affiliate URL will look like this:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/5544

Who could look at this and tell that you would get paid from the visitors you send through this link.

Your affiliate link will take you to the homepage of EliteFitness.com, and again, if someone comes to Elite, you get a 50% commission on all of their purchases for 90 days. If the web master of another site, comes to Elite through this link and he joins the EliteFitness.com Affiliate program, you get a 10% commission on everything his visitors buy.

One more bit of business, then I'll tell you three ways you can really make some money - even if you have no web site and no visitors.

Let's say you want to link to an interior page on EliteFitness.com. For example, you might want to link to the Forums. To link to the forums, take your affiliate URL (http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername) and tack on a / after your username followed by the URL of the forums or any other interior page on the EliteFitness.com site. Here's what an affiliate link to the forums would look like:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername/http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/

Here's another example, this URL will go to the Chemical Wizardry sales letter:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername/http://www.elitefitness.com/reports/chemwiz

Ok, now, here's how to make some real money. Let's say you have a popular web site already. You can use the Links and Banners and other Promotional Advertisements to send your traffic to EliteFitness.com. Here's where you can get all of our links and banners and other promotional materials.

But what if you don't have a web site or the site you do have does not have any traffic? Don't worry, you can still make a lot of money in this program using the following three methods that I developed and that most webmasters don't know about and would not tell you about if they did! The methods are really that good.

Method One

Method one involves making the 10% commission on the sales generated from other web sites - preferably those with lots of traffic. Method two involves making the full 50% commission - but in a round about way. I'll start with method one.

There are thousands of bodybuilding sites out there and there are thousands of other sites that would have folks interested in what we have going on here at EliteFitness.com. All you have to do is to get the webmasters of those sites to join the EliteFitness.com Affiliate program under you. In other words, they become your subaffiliate and they will get a 50% commission and you will get 10%. How would you do this? How would you get a site to join the EliteFitness.com Affiliate program as your subaffiliate? There are two ways. The first is you send them an email and ask them to join.

Go get yourself a free EliteFitness.com email address and email the webmasters of sites that have visitors that would also be interested in EliteFitness.com's affiliate program. Tell them about the program and include your affiliate URL linking them to the affiliate home page. The link you would send them would look like this:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername/http://www.elitefitness.com/aff

Who should you target? Let me tell you, you can waste days targeting sites that have no traffic at all. But remember what I told you about Alexa.com and google pagerank? All you have to do is find sites that do well on Alexa (the lower their Alexa score the better) or who do well on google (the higher their pagerank the better) and those are the sites you want to target.

So you send this type of site an email and you ask them to join the EliteFitness.com Affiliate program - that's one way to get them to join. But, here's a better way that almost no one knows about.

First off, the important thing to remember is that the webmasters of the biggest web sites get literally hundreds of emails every day asking them to join all kinds of programs. So what are they likely to do with your email about how great the EliteFitness.com program is? Yup, that's right, they will likely delete it.

But, and here's the cool part, there is nothing wrong with signing the site up as an EliteFitness.com Affiliate yourself (under you as your subaffiliate of course) and then all they have to do is paste code on their web page that you will send them. Here's how this works.

Step one: Make a list of sites that do well on Alexa and google.

Step two: Do a whois lookup on these sites. This will tell you the complete contact information for the owners of these sites. Paste this information into a text file and save it for later. Here's a link for the NetworkSolutions whois lookup. Let's say you decide to look up muscleblitz.com (who happens to be an affiliate of ours already). When you look them up, you will see that the registrant and administrative contact is:

Registrant Contact:
David Welton
David Welton ([email protected])
01724 357175
Fax: none
61 Fairfield Road
Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire DN15 8DQ
GB

Administrative Contact:
David Welton
David Welton ([email protected])
01724 357175
Fax: none
61 Fairfield Road
Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire DN15 8DQ
GB

This means that David Welton is your man!

Step three: Click on your own affiliate URL. Then go to the affiliate sign up page. On this page, you sign up muscleblitz.com into the EliteFitness.com Affiliate program. And since you clicked your own Affiliate URL before you signed them up, they will be a subaffiliate of yours. You can see a list of your sub affiliates when you log into your own affiliate account and click the link: "You are earning commissions on 2 levels. Click here for your downline." (You can even send a mass email to all your subaffiliates from within your own account).

Step four: Now, all that's left for you to do is to contact the affiliates that you signed up and get them to put their own affiliate code on their website. Believe me, getting them to paste code on a page for a program that they are already a member of is much easier that getting them to join a new program and then paste the affiliate code. Here's a sample letter that I use myself that works great.

Hello David, (personalize your email with the info you get from the whois record)

The purpose of this letter is to introduce EliteFitness.com; I am looking for qualified affiliates and partners. I found your site under a search for the keyword "bodybuilding (or whatever search term you used) " in the search engine google. Your alexa score is 122268 and your link popularity equals 1570. These factors combine to make you a perfect affiliate for this program. I also checked out your site and I liked (here, you should mention something that you genuinely liked about their website).

EliteFitness.com bodybuilding is the world's largest archive of bodybuilding information with over 4 million pages of underground intelligence on bodybuilding and over 85,000 members.

We would like to buy advertising on your site. We carry some great bodybuilding and fat burning ebooks and memberships that sell like crazy

We would love for you to recommend them on your site and link to them with your own affiliate link. If you like our ebooks and would like to use an affiliate link to recommend them, I can offer you 50% of the product price as commission. About $25 on an average $50 sale.

Here are a few more details about our program:

1. You earn a 50% commission on every sale of our eBooks and memberships -- they practically sell themselves.

2. You earn a 10% commission on your sub-affiliates -- sign up a site, you make 10% on their sales.

3. We have a 90 day cookie -- With one click today, you get paid on everything that's sold for three months! Your visitors do not have to buy right away for you to get your 50%.

4. Monthly payments made through PayPal -- no more waiting for your checks.

5. We provide Realtime Tracking and Reporting.

6. We provide all the necessary tools and marketing material.

7. The program is free to join, and easy to get started.

8. We have a discussion board just for affiliates to use to discuss the program.

In fact, I went ahead and created an affiliate account for you. Here's your own link:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/muscleblitz

You can check your stats here:
http://www.elitefitness.com/aff/
Username: muscleblitz
Password: 12345

I also attached code that you can put on your site right away to link to "The Bodybuilding Truth." This is one of our most effective ads -- and your affiliate URL is already in the code. (I attacked the code here for you to attach to your mailings - open it in a text editor and replace the XXXX with the username you selected for the affiliate when you signed them up into the program.) Here's a link to see all our ebooks: https://www.elitefitness.com/amember/ And here's a link to all of our banners and linking code: http://www.elitefitness.com/aff/links

We are currently paying our affiliate meso-rx.com over $3,000 a month. Here's what our meso-rx.com said on our affiliate discussion board about the program:

"I am thankful that George contacted me with news of the Elite Fitness Affiliate Program! The MESO-Rx website provides extensive information on androgens and receives a lot of traffic. But as many webmasters know, traffic is all too often weakly correlated to revenue/profit for many websites. Not only has George's program resulted in an instant increase in revenue, but it does so with minimal effort on my part."

"I've sold (physical) books for a couple of years through my website. However nothing beats the ease and simplicity of selling ebooks and other electronic content/services. No inventory. No shipping or handling costs. And commissions are 100% profit!"

"I highly recommend the Elite Fitness Affiliate program!"

Millard
Meso-Rx.com

What do you say David (personalize again)? Send us 1000 clicks, and if you like the program keep it. If not, drop it -- not to worry, no one has wanted to drop the program so far .

I look forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Your name

PS: If you want to reach me, you can call me at (put your phone number) or email me at (put your email address).

I usually send out a mailing like this first thing on a Monday and then give it a week. If they have not posted the code on their site after 7 days, I send them a second email. If they still have not posted the code, I call them on the telephone. And if they are still not interested, I usually wait a month until I approach them again, except the next time I approach them, I recommend a different ebook.

Here's a recap, find prospective affiliates that are likely to produce based on their Alexa score and Page rank. Look them up in whois. Sign them up under you. Contact them with a personalized email like the one above and send them the code ready for them to use with their affiliate username in place. Follow up with them to make sure they actually paste the code on their web site.

In no time at all, you will be making big bucks from your efforts and it cost you nothing but a little time. Imagine if you were able to get Yahoo to sign up under you?

Method two:

Here's method two for making money in our affiliate program even if you don't have any web site or even if you don't have a popular web site.

In my posting on the affiliate discussion forum a few months ago, I told you how to easily cloak your affiliate links using a .htaccess file - this assumes you already have a website. Let's say that you want to link to our discussion forums. Using this method, you could mask an EliteFitness.com affiliate link that looks like this:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername/http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/

Into one that looks like this:

http://www.YourSite.com/go/forums/

Pretty cool right? Here's a link where I'll tell you how to cloak your affiliate links. Why do you need to do this?

Well, affiliate programs are the most popular choice for making money online. However, they're so common that most people recognize an affiliate link and are less likely to click on one because of the selfish notion that they might be contributing to someone else's success. But that's another Oprah ...

So now, if you don't have a web site (or if you do), I want to show you how to conquer this issue while looking like a pro.

First, you need to register a new domain name that has something to do with the page you are linking to. Let's continue our example of linking to the EliteFitness.com Bodybuilding Forums.

Go to a registrar and register a domain name. The one I recommend is DomainSite.com. I like them because you can register a domain for only $6.99. In about 48 hours, your domain will be live and kicking. Since we are linking to the EliteFitness.com Bodybuilding Forums, you could register something like BestBodybuildingForums.com or something similar.

Then you use the URL forwarding feature at DomainSite.com to redirect anyone going to BestBodybuildingForum.com to your affiliate link. URL Forwarding is a simple function that redirects all http (web) requests for your domain name to a different destination. For example, to send people to the discussion forums and get affiliate credit, you would forward your new domain name:

BestBodybuildingForums.com

to the URL

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername/http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/

It is really very easy after that. After you register a domain name, all you do is cut and paste the URL above into the URL forwarding field at DomainSite.com. Then you promote your domain BestBodybuildingForums.com and get credit for all of your referrals to the Elite Fitness.com Forums. You can promote this URL in any other forum you post on. You can put it in email messages you send in your signature. You can pm it to other members on other forums (just not Elite). Or you can buy traffic from google.com and overture.com and use it there. Post up if you know other places to promote a link like this.

One more thing, you might be asking right now, why would you want to send someone to the forums instead of to a page on EliteFitness.com where someone can actually buy something. I'm glad you asked!

Remember, in the EliteFitness.com affiliate program, you get credit for everything the visitors you send us buys for 90 days - most programs don't give you 90 days. Send someone to the forums at EliteFitness.com, and they are pretty much guaranteed to get hooked on our site and join the forum community. After all, you can only read 10 pages here before you have to register yourself - and then we can start marketing to you.

From that point on, all you have to do is sit back and let us do the work selling to them. And we'll give you half of everything they buy from us for three months.

Sometimes a softsell approach can over time be much more effective than a harder more direct sell approach. Give this a try, and please post your findings here on the Affiliate Discussion Forum.

Method three

A final way to make money is to link to specific posts on Elite when someone asks a question about something on another site. Let's say your on one of the other bodybuilding sites and someone asks a question about Winstrol cycles. You remember that there is a great thread (or you found one using Platinum Search) on winstrol cycles at Elite and the URL is:

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=380815

You could just post the URL on the other site, but then you would not get credit for the traffic you send to Elite. Instead, use this URL when you post your link:

http://www.elitefitness.com/g._o/YourAffiliateUsername/http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-380815.html

Just make sure you replace YourAffiliateUsername with your actual affiliate username and replace the number 380815 with the number of the post you are linking to.

Some other things to think about. The forum threads to target on other boards should be ones that are popular. You can tell by looking at the views for the specific threads. Another idea is to include a picture in your post. The picture can even be a link using your affiliate code itself. Also, upload a picture to the thread. A paperclip icon will appear in the thread index for threads containing pics and posts with pics are very popular.

Yet another thing to do is to link to pics in your elitefitness.com gallery. You can ask members of another site to critique you, or post pics of your friends, link to them on another site, and ask for a critique. Pretty much, once you get someone to Elite, they will get hooked. You just need to get them here using your affiliate code. Here's a mini guide to linking methods using vBulletin the software that powers our site.

One final thought. At some point, you may want you own site. Having your own site is a good idea, but you might want to consider not setting up your own forums. If you want to make money from forums, get a Platinum Membership, become a mod on one of the Platinum forums or start a new one and then link to that forum. This way, when your promoting your forum on Elite, you're making some money. And a Platinum Membership on Elite costs a hell of a lot less than setting up and running your own boards.

I'll be happy to answer any questions about any of this if you would like. And I guarantee that these three methods are some of the best ways to start earning extra money quickly and easily.
