Major Milestone: 315 reps on the bench

Well after several years of training - I was finally able to bench 315. I put the weight on and was planning on doing my one rep max - it felt so good, I did 3 - second set I did 2 - third set I struggled with 1.

I know some of you might think thats nothing, but considering a few years ago I couldn't even do 3 sets of 10 at 135 - I'm pretty pleased. I even had a couple guys at the gym come up to me and introduce themselves to me afterwards - that's never happened before. Anyway - I'm happy.

The funniest thing is, while I was lifting the weight - the thought that was motivating me was: "I'm not a cop!".

(Thanks for motivating me Term! - I think this board is getting to me though.)

Later.

First congradulations!!! nothing feels better then accomplishment...second...im lost...why was you thinking your not a cop motivate you?? Also...the board is getting to you? good or bad?

Maybe he came on the boards asking questions that made people wonder if he was a cop or not...?

BTW, congrats on the lift.

It's a real good thing that this board is getting to me - sorry for the cryptic message - it made sense to me. Let me try to explain. Being new to the board (I only registered late last year) it is difficult to gain other member's trust. Understandably and rightfully so.

The context of the of the thought could be explained like this - "Take a look at this lift - I am a bodybuilder, not a cop". Really the thought wasn't that complete though, the weight was too flippin' heavy to think in complete sentences. The part I find interesting though, and it really has nothing to do my occupation - is that I was thinking about what other people from this board (whom I've never met) would think about what I was doing. A bit strange, I admit, none-the-less, it worked for me.

Thanks for the congrats -

yeah thats true bro..i dont trust you...ha ha...let alone care who you are..No maing im just pulling your dog chain...its good that you like it here...i think we all do..and when i was a newbie i felt the same way..like you found a place you could call home when it came to learning about AAS/lifting/diet..and such....good for you...im still lost as to why you would think a cop couldnt lift that much..i used to train in this golds gym in vegas when i lived there and there alot of cops (that were HUGE mind you) that tossed that kind of weight up...just cause you lifted that much still doesnt mean your not a cop..not saying you are..but i found that odd that you said that...

Congrats bro now work for that 350-400 range! Nothing is impossible!

Nice job dude. I remember when I finally hit the 400 mark, I got up, stood and looked at the bar for a minute and my buddy just looked at me and goes "wow". Good feeling isnt it.

dont understand the cop thing but nice job bro i remember when i was constantly getting buried by 135 than 1 day i got it these are the things that keep u coming back now im in the 400 plus club

I just hit 315 too and it feels great to look at that bar and think "damn most of the dudes around here don't squat that much"

Congrats

I have yet to get to the 315 mark yet, my best was 300 until I got a shoulder injury. I'm working on 400 deadlift and I'll get it on my last week of the 5X5 routine. I've got 2 weeks to go and did 365, so I'll get 400.
Congrats on the milestone, I'll be getting my 400 mark in 2 weeks.
