losing inches with weights ?

Hi.

Maybe I have this wrong. But I thought when you weight train & add muscle your measurements go down ?

My inches are going up ?

What is the right answer ?

Particularly when you are within the first 6 weeks of a change in training / diet, its hard to take measurements and assume that they will all trend down (e.g. you are losing inches) when the content of that measurement is boht fat & muscle - thus Shadow notes the need for bodyfat measurement. Just like weight - its made up of both fat & muscle with both changing simulataneously.

Barring tracking of bodyfat, the easier way to determine progress is just how you look. How your clothes fit, how "watery" your skin is, etc. As a female, you should start seeing differences in bodyfat on your upper body first.

It would also depend on your starting point..

All this is relative isint it?

Like if your tiny to beign with, you would be adding inches and vice versa..

I just notice the smaller i get the few inches i lose and once u hit bone, your muscle builds on top of that
