Hi Everyone,

I am 5'7 and weigh about 170lbs. I really want to get fit and have recently joined the gym. BUT I am really intimidated when I go there. I really want to drop weight and then work on getting lean muscle so for now I am just concentrating on cardio. I would love to go in the weigh room but I just can't. I'm hoping that if I can lose some weight then I might feel more comfortable. I hate asking this because I know that most of you work hard for how you look and there really isn't an easy way to do it, but is there any fat burners that are safe and would help me lost the weight faster. I have no problem doing the work, I just really want the results faster. I haven't been to the beach or even worn shorts in the summer in years. This year I would like it to be different, but I need to be somewhat fit to even consider it. I have already lost 15 lbs since January 1st, but I feel like I have hit a plateau. My diet isn't that bad, but probably not great either. I try to eat healthy but most days I do eat a frozen meals and barely get any vegetables.
So if anyone can tell me what I can buy to lose weight a little more quickly I would really appreciate it. I have tried to so some research myself but I find it quite confusing. Someone I know told me they he could get me something to help and he gave me Stanozolol. I was taking 20mg a day and ended up gaining 10 pounds in a little over a week. Needless to say I stopped taking it.

Welcome! You can get lots of helpful advice here. First of all, your friend is an idiot for giving you Stanozolol. Second, you really need to clean up your diet if you want to see good results in fat loss. Doing a bunch of cardio will not cut it unfortunately. If you check out the stickies and do lots of reading here you will find lots of good information. It would be helpful for people to help too if you post up a typical day of eating.

If you have your diet cleaned up and you really want an added kick then there are lots of good choices here from our sponsors for fat burners. You can check out the bodybuilding supplement forum here for different reviews. Personally I have tried the Liposhred stack and had great results.

Don't be afraid to hit that weight room girl. Put your headphones on and go in there not making any eye contact. You go in there and kill it and don't worry about anyone else.
 
If you don't get your diet in check you will see minimal to no results no matter what you take or do in the gym. All the processed food is full of sodium, addedtives and other junk that will not get you to your goal.

You should be eating 5-6 small meals a day this marco ratio:

• 40% Protein
• 30% carbs
• 30% fats (good fats)

Calories should be set at 10-12 x body weight so your calories should be 1700-2040

Stop eating carbs after 6 p.m.

These are approved foods (if it is not on the list you shouldn’t be eating it)

• Low-fat cottage cheese
• Wild-game meat
• Ezekiel bread
• Sweet potato
• Steamed brown rice

• Greek yogurt
• Broccoli
• Asparagus
• Lettuce
• Cauliflower
• Green beans
• peppers
• Mushrooms
• Spinach

• Zucchini
• Cucumber
• Onion
• Avocado
• Sunflower seeds
• Pumpkin seeds
• Natural peanut butter
• dry roasted peanuts unsalted
• raw almonds and almond oil
• walnuts and walnut oil

• Flax seed and flax seed oil

Once a week a have a planned cheat meal Saturday night is usually best also try to limit your alcohol consumption to only then as well.
 
Welcome! Listen to the ladies above, they know their stuff! As SuperQT says- totally diet. I've been training for years, and recently locked in my diet and have had amazing results with losing bodyfat. My caution is this - if you do start working out like crazy, don't be afraid to eat, just eat the right stuff! You don't want to do all your working out and then not eat correctly because you'll eat up your muscles and not your bodyfat. Good luck, and again, welcome!

Listen to the girls here they know their stuff. the frozen dinners have got to go, they don't have good nutrition. Even Lean Cuisine is really high in sodium, which will bloat you up like crazy.
The thing is, if you take the weight off too quickly, it's going to come right back on because you didn't do it in a healthy way.
Your body doesn't like to be starved, and it will slow down your metabolism to compensate for really low calories.
I was intimidated in the beginning too, but it'll pass, and you will have a huge boost of self-confidence once you start challenging yourself. Put on your big-girl panties, do a little research on the exercises you want to do, and get in that weight room :)

Seriously, stick around and do it right, you will lose fat and gain muscle at the rate that is right for you, and that is sustainable, so you don't have to keep yo-yo-ing around.
PS I had to look up Stanozolol-woah!!!! Don't take any more advice from that guy-ever!!!

Good work! Get in your zone in the weightroom, have fun with it. Coffee and green tea? Sure why not? I'm sippin on some starbucks myself at the moment.

Green tea is awesome providing you are not putting anything in it you can drink as much of it as you like. Coffee is fine as long as you are not putting sugar or cream in it a little spenda or stevia is fine but if you use it try to limit it it to 1-2 cups per day.
