Long time no see; need help here

Hello everyone, it's been awhile. I've been away due to certain circumstances which had arisen over the past month or so. It's a long story, so I'd rather not explain right now. Now, I've been out of comission for a bit so I'm letting myself recover a bit and want to do this routine (stay away from weights for a li'l while, part of the story) http://navyseal.s5.com/workouts.html

It's the Navy SEAL routine, I'm sure many of you have seen or heard of it. Now, I have a question about it. Look at first, Catergory I PT Training. It says, in a note at the bottom of that section:

Note: For best results, alternate exercise. Do a set of push-ups, then a set of sit-ups, followed by a set of pull-ups. Do not rest between sets.

Now, this suggests doing push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, then repeating without break, because the rest time when working the other muscle groups was enough (since it's geared towards endurance).

Okay, first off that's brutal enough, considering you don't get a chance to breathe. I'm wondering if there's supposed to be a break, or should there be? Not that it's impossible, but it is tough on the lungs as well.

Which brings me to Catergory II. Notice, it adds in Dips. Now, correct me if I'm wrong (which I'm not) but both push-ups and dips work the chest and triceps. If you're supposed to follow the same principles as Catergory I (which you are, according to that same footnote at the bottom) then it's saying to do the exercises in a circuit: push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, dips, repeat. But when you repeat, you're once more working the triceps/chest, after just having done dips.

Now, is that wrong? Should there be a period of rest? Or is that really what they mean? I might be skeptical, but wouldn't working the triceps/chest entail some period of rest before doing them AGAIN?

Long post, I know, sorry. Would like a quick anwser, if possible. Just gotta figure this out, because those of you who know me know that I let the slightest detail get to me. Though, in this case, I think this slight detail is pretty important.

ya i studied this routine. I would suggest tossing in some dips in the catergory I routine, i think they make you do like a crap load as soon as you start category II. I think you are missing the point, this is more of an endurance routine. Endurance = little rest for the most part. For example week 1 cat 1, pushups 4x15, situps 4 x 20, pullups 3 x3. do a set of push, situps, pullups, then do them again, then take a LITTLE break, then proceed to finish the workout. Key is to build endurance, so you want to take as little rest as possible. Like i said i would start incorporating dips in the routine asap to lesson the burden of all of the sudden doing like 200 in a workout. The PT routine in itself is not time consuming. As weeks go by the running and swimming will eat up your time. I agree with michael, the pt routine at the end of cat II is insane. What are your plans??? I have a buddy who is doing this right now, he is also incorporating needsize 5 x5 routine in the following lifts, bench, deads, squats, stand mil presses. and stand barbell curls. He is starting out with them all at light weight, i.e. becnh, squat and deads at 95lbs. His theory is that a slow increase over a long period of time, i.e. over one year is the way to go, it slowly becomes normal to your body so to speak. I dont know, haha. whatever. Legion, what do you plan to do??????

Stay strong guy.

Whatever is going on, I hope things iron out.

Maybe training is out of the question at this point.

Are you still in school?

Yeah, as much as I'd love to stop going now, I know it's what I need to do to pursue any stable future.

Thanks though man.

The weight training is out, but I'm sticking with the SEAL program for now, to try and keep up with some physical activity.
