Local bands that are unbelievable... anyone?

Does anyone have local bands in their are that are just UNBELIEVABLE?
I've seen a few lately that would blow away most major label acts...

post up names/websites if you know of any truly under-represented acts... always good to hear they're out there. All genres...

not local for you but the Constantines are local Toronto guys, they've blown up recently but they've been rocking for a little while... its all about seeing bands like this at $5 shows before they have a chance to start opening for Foo Fighters and whatnot

there's a local band in my hometown called "not yet rated" and they are in high school and they are sooo good! i mentioned that i'm going to jimmy eat world on the 18 of sept in another thread, well they are opening for them and they also get played alot on the local radio stations. i have thier cd and you would think it was done by a professional music company not by a handful of teenagers.
