Liquid Calories ...

Any of you guys take in a lot of liquid calories?

I started this only lately, but I put a bunch of stuff in the blender and drink it throughout the day.

This is what I have:

Few scoops of unflavored whey, penut butter, oatmeal (friend gave idea), banana or other fruits

All mixed in milk. You can add herseys syrup or some caramel thing if you aren't worried about carbs.

This is by far the easiest way for me to down calories, and I can get in 6k cals a day like this and a lot of them will be "good calories." By "good calories" I mean healthy fats from things like penut butter, good carbs from oatmeal (btw you won't even taste it in the shake), and ofcourse the whey ...

In the morning, i'll just have my "protein coffee" ... then make a "weight gainer" ... anyway you get the point.

I'm sure whole foods are much better, but getting in 5000+ calories of whole foods is near impossible for me without wanting to puke.

I've been doing this lately. It's definitely helping me put on size and strength.

I've taken in liquid calories since day 1. Some people have jobs or lifestyles that make it almost impossible to consume 6 big meals a day. I like Prolab's N-Large mixed with skim milk. About 900 calories, 80 grams of protein, 100 grams of carbs. It's filling but doesn't bloat you. I always have 2-3 of those a day.

surg,, I have to dissagree with you on the pro lab inlarge... Everytime I take that stuff I bloat for atleast 2 hrs after I inhale due to the great tast!!lol

I drink prob 3 protein shakes a day..

Reason I don't like weight gainers is cause they are mostly sugars, but if you guys mix oatmeal in the shake it will taste perfect AND all complex carbs!!!

Hmmm... I have trouble relating to these types of posts... since I used to be fat. I have no trouble inhaling 6k cals of real food without feeling bloated. For me a good bulking day might consist of 3 ibs of sirloin. 1 jar of natural pb. 4 to 8 oz of swiss. A romaine/brocolli/bell pepper salid with olive oil and flaxseed oil (can always dice up steak and cheese on it). Maybe a second salid. Of course drink a liquid meal post workout. I'f I'm still hungry I can snack on nutts and veggies. Come on people, it isn't that hard. Put it in your mouth, chew and swallow...

Just get sick after a while of eating steak and meat ...

I always went the food route but I think I am gonna go with "liquids" for a while until I develope an apetite again. Besides, it's not like I only eat the liquids ...

Also, anyone think liquid oats will be any different than real oats? I would think it's the same thing since it is except blended in something else ...

Is it possible that digestion will change if it is liquid?

I would think the processing from a blender would be minimal, so the change in glycemic index or absorbsion would be too small to measure. You should be fine bro. sk man, I've read some of your post you are more intelligent than that.
