lifting heavy weights leads to injuries?

Wondering what you thought about the theory that lifting heavy weights will increase your chances of getting injuries but if you lift less weight and work on proper form you won’t get injured as much.
If I were to follow the second option would I still be able to build good size or what I be wasting my time and would you recommend I just go ahead and lift heavy?

i dont lift heavy i lift long
more reps = less injuries because less weight

strive for being in the 40 to 70% rep range

What is your definition of heavy lifting? Some people lift so heavy they can only do 1-2 reps. If you mean 7-11 reps, then that is okay. Also, don't overexert yourself so much that you are tired during your next session. If you are not rested enough, that results in more injuries.
