I figured this could be an interesting post. There are a lot of different names out there... there are also a lot of common names. If it is different, how did you come up with it? If it is a common name... is it after someone inparticular? Explain.
I have one daughter... her name is Swayzie.
Swayzie was born 7 weeks early and went nameless for the first two weeks of her life. Her mom and I searched through thousands and thousands of names. It was a tough decision. I didn't want a common name because all of them reminded me of somebody else... typically, someone I didn't like.
We were messing around with names one day... and Swayzie came out of my mouth. At first, she shot it down quickly. I pressed the issue, and a week later she finally went for it.
People always say 'like Patrick Swazie?'
Yes and no.
Because of Patrick? No.
Because of Bodhi played by Patrick in 'Point Break?' Yes.
He was enlightened and had a very deep spiritual understanding of the world. I hope she will develop the same energy. Not the bank robbing part or anything... just the sense and love he felt of the world. Enlightened.
One of the best parts to this is when she becomes older, I plan on, by her character and beauty, decide the meaning of her name. It will be very spiritual indeed. When she is old enough to understand, I will then give her a beautiful frame that explains the meaning of her name... and a reminder to her that beauty is everywhere if she just opens her eyes.
Well... I don't tell people this is the reason... I expect a flame fest.
