Layovers and massive gains

Ive had a huge layover from the gym preventing me of training. Supposedly its a great plateau booster.

I want to cut, but considering the gains that might come up after such a layover, the shock might be so great that I might as well bulk to reap all the gains - hence the question, bulk or cut?
If cut, do you think it's possible to gain and lose at the same time?

PS. Im also going to start swimming if I start to cut. Considering the layover, do you think I should train with the swimming, or leave swimming to itself? Do you think I can gain and lose with either? All advice is appreciated.

if you have had a long layover you might want to bulk so you wont be working to keep your strength as you would if you would cut, if you bulk you will be regaining the strength you formerly had and add to that. but what matters most ofcourse is what your bf is around, if you need to cut or not or if you can handle bulking for a while, then cut up if you want.
