Last minute suggestions...

Hey all...

I've begun my slow decent into hell.....LOL
I'm 4 days from my comp and have some last minute questions i was hoping anyone could help me with!

When I cut my sodium Thur/Fri ....what are some other pro choices besides boiled chicken? Or am I stuck with that for 48 hours...

On my carb up....how often and how much?? Would 3 oz sweet potato or 1/2 oatmeal or 1/2 cup rice be a sufficient amount in each meal?? all day???
On a normal day, i would take in around 120-140. So do I carb up above that and if i feel smooth than take it down?
I should avoid veggies those two days as well?
I normally don't mix fat and carbs so how do i get my fats in those days??

The day of the show....what should i bring to eat? If prejudging is at 10...i should eat around 7 am? I know the girls are going first, but for after is it still no sodium? yikes!!!

TANNING---- I was going to apply my first coat thursday night, 2 on friday, and one on sat. am. How do i go about the knees, elbows? I'm doing my face with clinique bronzer so is my neck and under chin protan? Depending on how i look i may use dream tan right before prejudging. Okay...about shaving...if i shave EVERYTHING friday night, is it going to look toooo bad if i have to light shave sat. morning? anyone have to do this? Sassy?

I get razor burn pretty bad in my bikini and underarms..and was told to shave my actual arms as well. I'm scared i'll cut my arms cause i've never had to shave those!!!

Someone also said don't take your usual supps friday or sat. not to include glutamine. LIke my vitamins and claritin....huh???

Have any of you other girls froze up or forgotten a move in your routine?????
I HAVE A HUGE FEAR OF THIS..no matter how many times i hit my routine perfect i still fear that i will mess it up!!!
I know most of these questions are silly and will just come with going with the flow and figuring it out...but just wanted some opionions/advice.

Hey girl, I'm going to answer a few of your questions, but a few I'm not even going to touch, only because everyone is so different and there are so much ways to do things, yes I'm talking about the diet questions. Hell I did 2 comps and 2 totally different diets.

For the carb ups though I would stick with either sweet potato or regular potato.

If i were you I would shave thursday before the protan don't worry they aren't going to see any hair that might grow back, they don't see as much as we think they do. And yes shave all the hair off.

Tanning, yes protan up to your chin, and a dark makeup for your face. Also that's another thing you should have experimented with already, everyone is different on how many coats they need. Fore me I only need 2 coats, but as I saw this weekend 2 of my roommates were using the same protan as me and they need like 5 coats pluse dream tan and my tan was still darker.

The reason by you were told not to take the supplements are well, have you ever tried taking them with no water :worried: not exactly an easy task, let me tell you.

If you forget a move don't freeze up continue, make it up if you have to. They won't know that you weren't supposed to do that high kick because it should have been a 1 armed push up.

And remember to relax and enjoy yourself., this is the key to competing, you need to have fun with it.
 
Last April I used up a whole bottle of pro-tan and still wasn't dark enough. It seemed to be MUCH lighter than last year, where i also used pro-tan and got very dark only after 4 coats and half the bottle. I also noticed it wasn't as smelly this time....and a bunch of other girls found it was too light as well. Could it be they have changed the formula??? I think the top coat of dream-tan really helped, plus it seems to give a nice shimmery effect. I find just the pro-tan gives me a really dry look.

My friend tried some sort of mousse tanning product, i can't remember what it was called, but it was much easier to apply than pro-tan and way less streaky. She got it off bodybuilding.com, i believe, anyhow i think that's what i will use next time. not only that, she was able to tan herself and didn't even need a helper.

Not sure about how you woudl do it - for my BB show, carb depleted for 4 days, then Friday- meal 1 - protein + veggies, meal 2 - 2 oz plain potato, meal 3 -protein + veg , meal 4 and all meals after - 2 oz plain potato - at 1 hr intervals - but we watched to see how I looked and ate accordingly. Note this is for BB so the need to pull water out is much more intense. Also ran taraxatone for 10 days leading up to the show with water pills after each protein meal. My fats were EFA pills w/ each protein meal. By Thurs / Fri other than the protein meals I dont recall even worrying about fats cuz its all about the carb up at that point. Over the course of Fri night I ate my potatos as I was hungry also. I cut water at 3 pm Friday. Used distilled water for my supps and sipped only as needed.

I got up at like 5 am for my first meal -- just had some eggs, tiny amount of oatmeal and a sausage i think. Mostly you dont' want to eat anything new or anythign that will upset your stomach. After that I just kept a bunch of potatos with me and ate as I was hungry.

Sodium-wise - I had been going no sodium earlier in the week and just started addign some salt to the potatos -- mostly for taste. I am not sure what it really did tho. If you are adding sodium I would mostly just go real light with it. I've only tried serious sodium manipulation once and I can't say it did much.

The last time you shave is before your first layer of protan. Don't shave after that because it will mess up the protan. So you go a few days w/o a shave... o well. You can put moisturizer on your toenails & fingernails so you don't get the dye on them and it takes 4 months to grow it out. When you put each layer on, make sure you let it dry good before you start moving around. That will help w/ the elbows / knees thing. Put the first layer on really heavy. Let it dry. Then sleep in it w/ long sleeves & pants. Then take a shower the next morning and repeat. Make sure the clinique bronzer is dark enough and has an even line to the protan so it doesnt' look like a mask. If u need to, you can do protan touch up on your face as well. I'm not a big fan of Dream tan because it came out a different color on me than the protan and it is just a mess to work with. And you dont' want to get it on your suit.

I would say start shaving NOW. Cuz it starts to itch when u do it the first time or two. You can use moisturizer or baby oil to help soften it. Then when you are ready to do your first layer of protan, loofah up in the shower real good and dont' put on any oil or anything. Then go get the layer.

I'm not sure there - generally the idea is to just let your body deal w/ the stress of that day's diet / dehydration / etc. and not introduce any sides from supps, etc. It just keeps it simple. If there is something that you take that makes your life easier, I would continue taking that. But keep all the stuff to a min.

Here you just need to relax. Focus on your music or whatever. If you are doing BB, keep your 60 sec no music routine very simple. By the time the nite show rolls around you shoudl be much more relaxed. If you build it up to be a big thing to screw up in your mind, you will. Just relax. At this point you shoudl be able to do your stuff on reflex. Relax and have fun! It takes a little to get "out of your head" and MAKE yourself remember that these people showed up & paid money to see you. And it is also YOUR JOB to make the judges aware that they came to see YOU as well. Everyone else on stage is irrelevant. Just YOU! IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU! So sit back & enjoy it. Feel the audience and let that carry you ! And mostly remember to SMILE!!!!!! YOu've done all the work already --- now you just have to stand up there and strut!
