Suspect arrested in attack on teacher

A DeKalb County mother accused of beating her daughter's teacher with a cell phone and a coffee mug was arrested Tuesday.

Sheriff's officers found Lalindus Cater, 41, at a liquor store. Cater, who is being held at DeKalb County Jail, faces two counts of aggravated battery, and criminal trespass charges.

Cater had been missing since March 27. Police said Cater went to Canby Lane Elementary School that day with her daughter insisting that the child had been slapped and "demanding to know who did it."

Police said Cater beat a first grade teacher assistant, Dawn Martin, 43, with a cell phone and coffee mug in a classroom full of students. She then took her 6-year-old daughter and fled from the school.

Martin, who was treated for cuts and bruises, has not returned to Canby Elementary. Both she and DeKalb school officials denied hitting the 6-year-old girl.

Near Roswell.. I grew up there. It is perfect and alot of good people live there.

I live in Dallas.. which is near Marietta. I really love that area.

no she meant she wasnt looking at dekalb, but looking at Cobb and Fulton county INSTEAD...

i had the pleasure of driving us around the area looking for elementary schools..there's some pretty nice ones on the east side of marietta by roswell..timber ridge was really nice..hopefully she gets a job at one of those schools..plus its not too far so I dont have to worry about her and stuff...

She will do good at one of the schools in east cobb or in Roswell.. it is nice over there and people are really nice... snobby.. but nice.

I like where I live on the east side of marietta on powder springs road..i live on a lake, so its a nice view and quiet..

that is South West Cobb.
