Kurt Henning death (was there any AAS issues?)

I haven't heard a single detail about his death yesterday.

Did it have anything whatsoever to do with any health-related problems or was it an accident?

he was big dude maybe he had an heart attack

If he did it was from doing coke, either recently or in the past. If you will remember when he was wrestling or talking he would always touch his nose (a lot) this is a learned habit that is associated with the use of coke.

Then again, he may have just been touching his nose.

That's a pretty disrespectful and fucking ignorant assumption to make about someone you don't know. Just because the man touched his nose, that makes him a coke addict. Grow up.

Look, I thought the guy was a good wrestler and watched him as a kid, but understand this I was not just talking out my ass and yes, just mabe I had more infomation that I was baseing my opion on than just the fact that he touched his nose a lot. Here is the story in todays local paper, BTW I live about 15 min from where he died.

Professional wrestler Curt Hennig found dead in Brandon hotel

The Associated Press

Professional wrestler Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig was found dead in a hotel room Monday. Officials said foul play wasn't suspected.

Hennig, 44, of Champlin, Minn., was scheduled to appear at the Florida State Fair in Tampa on Monday night.

A housekeeper at the Homestead Suites Hotel in Brandon found Hennig in a room about 1:30 p.m, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Hennig was not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner's Office, and the sheriff's office is conducting a death investigation.

Hennig, the son Minneapolis wrestler Larry "The Axe" Hennig, has wrestled professionally for more than 30 years, according to an online biography. He worked for the World Wrestling Federation and most recently wrestled for Jimmy Hart All-Star Wrestling.

I apolozise if I came off wrong in the first post I made but it irritates me that any time an athelete or a muscular person dies everybody jumps to the conclusion that it is steriod related.

Doubt it was steroid related. Just look at the bodybuilding community compared to the wrestling world. Cant even think of any dead bodybuilders. But wresting? Rick Rude, Brian Pillman, 3 Von Erichs, Curt Henning, Davey Boy Smith and the list goes on Im sure. I dont follow wrestling as closely any more. But it is far dirtier than bodybuilding..................galaxy

Just thought of 2 BB's Momo and Munzer(But I had to think real hard)

dude that guy was prob just touching his nose.he was awsum.when he was in his prime he could only be beat by the warrior. but you know with that life style you may pick up bad habits or personality problems that come alone with the fame and public attention. big dudes die younger just like big dogs.do dogs shoot up behind our backs?

hey with all the vet gear maybe, imagine having a 20 pound ripped chihuahua you shoot up with some nice ttokkyo gear or feed some a-bombs in its dog chow

These incidents always bring back the reality of mortality. It is a sad day when people go early. I hate to see it. It does open my eyes a little wider everytime. Things we take for granted..wow.

Condolances to all that knew him and certainly to his family.

Well said.

Steroids have nothing to do with it. I can't stand when people immediately blame steroids for someone's death. Henning was always on the road, partying his ass off, taking back bumps nightly, taking painkillers constantly. He also drank heavily. All of these contribute to a short lifespan. Wrestling is a grueling profession.

I am not disrespecting the guy, but this is the life he chose and it is a very hard one on the body. The only reason steroids are blamed is because it is the only external evidence we see. It is easy for one to say "Well, he had a lot of muscle, therefore he abused steroids and that is why he died."

I knew Kurt and he was a coke guy...same as Brian Pillman...I would not put it past him to be on something..I worked a few shows with him...he was a stellar individual though...

I want to make it clear that I wasn't broadly implying that AAS use may have contributed to his death.

I hadn't been able to find anything related to his death and knew no details. That's why i asked on this forum.

For all I knew, he could have had his head blown off or could have died in a car accident.

Thanks for all the information everyone provided.

I couldn't have said that better myself. Good job Zoomster.
He was a great wrestler and will be missed in the industry.

Steriods may have played a factor in his death, but it likely more pain killers that did him in then anything else. Most wrestler live on pain killers 24x7, some even to the point of addiction. Henning had been licing with a bad back since late 80s' early 90s', I can only assume that he was taking something for any pain that came around.

Either way the fact remains the same. Curt Henning was a wrestling all star from his early days in AWA, to WWF where he had some tremendous matches with the like of Brett Hart, Kerry Von Erich, and many more. It's too bad that WWE let him go for playing a rib on the golden child Brock Lesnar.

They say it was a Heart Attack rioght now but I guarentee they will make a play for AAS related death.
Bottom line.
He was Perfect.....just Perfect.
