GUNTER WINS!
Gunter Schlierkamp shocked the bodybuilding world by beating reigning Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman at the GNC Show of Strength Bodybuilding Championship on Saturday, November 9. Schlierkamp defeated the Olympia champ only three weeks after Coleman had won his fifth straight Sandow. This victory by the 300-pound Schlierkamp marks the first time a reigning Mr. Olympia has ever been beaten on a stage other than the Mr. Olympia stage. Here are the complete results.

until he can beat ronnie at his best, he has not been dethroned.. ronnie was a notch down for this competiton, and he even said he would be really happy if he was at 90% yes, congrats gunter.. ronnie doesen't deserve many of the remarks on here, its pretty clear to me that most on here see it as their "white" man trying to knock down the nigger that has ruled over the BB world for some time. stupid indeed, but everyone in their warped mind is entitled to believe what they want.. i didn't have a problem with gunter winning this show, looked great, but at the O, ron was a notch or 2 better as always.

NO, Gunter looked better at the O plain and simple. I am not a Ronnie hater, it's just plain that he wasn't the best onstage at the O and the crowd there knew it too.


BTW, LEE gets 4th!! NICE!! Now if he could only get Cormier out of his way, he also seems to place one higher than Lee. :mad:
 
I don't know why race is being brought into this. When Ronnie was at his best, I heard ALOT of white bro here and every other board talking about how great he was. Face it, Gunther looked better at the Mr. O(shit, so did Levrone for that matter) and I am sure, better at this show also. Ronnie got his ass kicked twice. You cannot blame Gunther because Ronnie can't seem to get his body into previous Mr. O condition.

I am proud and VERY happy for Gunther!!!

Oh, and by the way, I am a black man!

First off the olympia has and always been political, wonder if this situation will change that...doubt it..

Ronnie should have been knocked of in my opinion 2 of his last 5 victories....

Gunter has never bitched about his placing, although many deserved...He in my opinion is the most improved BB this year....

Can we all remember how Ronnie came out of no where and took the title...Why can't we view it as just that, Gunter the total package came out and stole the show......Well deserved...

BLINGBLING nothing personal but it is a white man that is allowing Ronnie to stay where he is, deserving or not.......

I wonder why Kevin did not compete..He should not have gotten second in the olympia.....

Lee should have been third over Chris in my opinion.....

Keep an eye on the chic he may be creeping up real soon...

Dexter in my opinion got fucked again.....

Bling, You are the ass that brought race into this. I don't care who wins as long as it isn't Coleman. He didn't deserve half his wins anyway. This has nothing to do with race, it has to do with politcs and how Coleman sucks dick to get in good with the judges.

what does this have to do with race, ronni has looked like crap in his last several contests. He should have been beat by gunter but also by kevin, chris, and dexter, but maybe they arent really black. Bling you need to think before making stupid comment like this. Things like this are what keeps bringing racing apart instead of helping.
 
Congrats to Gunter! He finally got what he deserved. And as far as race goes, shove that shit up your ass you moron! So what are you saying, that ronnie sucks a better dick cause he's black? I really liked ronnie when he first started winning. Actually until he robbed Cutler at last years O'. After he developed that HUGE gut, he started going down hill in my eyes.


Gunter is the man! And what a great ambassador for the sport. Have him on Leno instead of Coleman. Did you guys see that? He makes bodybuilders look like big dumb idiots. Does he have any education?

let me start off by saying that by no means am i racist or have any prejudice against blacks, or any other ethnic group for that matter.. but why is it that in this day in age, it is nearly impossible to even root for a white guy, or state someones personal opinion about a white person, without some ignorant black man bitching about "trying to knock down the nigger". is it at all possible that maybe, just maybe, the person who happens to be better, just might be white?? its as if white people aren't allowed to excel at anything without being accused of putting down the black man. slavery was done hundreds of years ago. white people don't owe anyone anything. get over it already. why even bring race up to begin with?

Gunter is my man, he has busted his ass this past year and it shows. Congrats! His speach back stage at the O shows the class and character he has. Perhaps some should take a lesson.

One quick point, bro. In many ways I agree with you, but slavery hasn't been done for "hundreds" of years. And separatism is still but half a century old. I don't defend affirmative action, etc.; in fact, I hate it. But, healing takes time, and some things take longer than others to heal.

I don't agree with Mr. Bling. I think he's an ignorant fool. But, sometimes, it helps to just let someone vent, maybe even discuss it with them post-emotions.

This is AWESOME!! I saw Gunther at the Sac show last weekend and we talked for a bit. I told him he should have won the Olympia and he told me thanks but he's going to try his best at the GNC show and that Ronnie was also competing. He told me it pays the same - $100,000.

So Gunther, CONGRATS!!
 
I am very happy about this. I have thought for yers that the man has an excellent physique, and add to that, he spends a lot of time on his personal appearance. His overall look and physique (i'm not gay) deserves a win and could do alot for the sport in gettig more acceptance from the general public. Looks like the judges woke up. And for Mr Bling, me being as white as can be, will say that for years i have also wanted Shawn Ray to win as well. That man could also do a lot for the sport. Ray and Gunther present a well educated athelete, that can respont to questions with intellect and not sound like they have a speech impediment or a 4th grade education, and their physique is very pleaseing and not grotuesque. I am glad one of my favorite men won.

BTW: It could be thanks to Shawn's efforts to change judging that let the better man win.

Again, i am verry happy with someone from my neck of the woods winning.
 
I like Ronnie Coleman... but the politics in this industry sicken me. The best man should win and this time Gunter was the best man. Good for him.

No one has called Ronnie a nigger here except YOU. Hit the fucking road and take the MAN with you. No one wants to hear that shit.

Stupid crackers---joke--me being white I love ronnie and his hugeness-in fact he is my fav BB but i will admit Gunter looked better--about the race thing-in my opinion the reason why there is racism nowadays is because black people bring it up so much. It would be amazing if i went a day without hearing about multiculturual and racism and ethnicity and all that crap--at my college they are obsest with this stuff and it gets really annoying. if your black great, if your mexican great, if your white great--leave it at that and move on.

The ironic thing about this is I actually think Ronnie looks better at this GNC show than he did at the O.
 
I actually dont really like gunter's physique that much....too lumpy.
 
Why the hell did Ronnie Coleman lose so much bicep mass? If you compare this years olympia with his first or second they are alot smaller...He's gotta stop lifting tiny weights to try to "etch" in detail...and up the poundages.
 
all i have to say is wait until Jay Cutler gets back into it...golden boy will be taking everyone by surprise...i like gunther,but his waist is a lil' too thick for my taste...but he's a wall of terror no doubt....and i agree w/ whoever stated that ronnie looked better at this show than the O...LOL

In the picture posted, it almost looks like he suffered a bicep tear. Anyone remember when Tom Platz competed after recovering from a torn bicep? Same look as Ron Coleman in that pic.
