ketogenic diet: complaint

Hi, I've been on TKD for about 2 1/2 weeks and it's been working great and all. Lifts in the gym have been going well, overall energy good, and no unusual mental foginess. But I do have one problem. Sometimes i have trouble sleeping at night. I do get some sleep but it's restless and unsatisfying. Any ideas or remedies? Thank you for your replies.

I had to come of a keto diet cos of insominia :(

No matter what i tried i couldnt fix the problem. but i found doing a 40/30/30 and eating clean carbs worked for me and it helped me sleep better too...

that sucks. its not for everybody. this is extreme. but iv done it and it worked. try staying up the whole night and the whole next day. no matter how bad you need a nap, do not let yourself.

Eat a nice high fat/protein meal at about 8-9pm. take a hot shower. and get to bed. you should sleep. remember the next night to get to bed about the same time. once you establish a sleeping cycle you will be ok.

hope it works for you.

maybe try ZMA.....lot of people say it's BS but it's really makes me a diffrence in sleepin.....anyway u can give a try.

Thank you assassin, and bds. As for 40/30/30, I'm a little carbophobic (real word?) right now, and i'm still getting good results. Plus the diet is easy to stick with. It looks like i'm gonna give your idea a shot bds. I'm just worried about the cortisol blowout...

and remember to experiment with your body, see jhow many carbs you can handle. I find that i can handle between 150-200 g of low gi carbs (and one i gi postworkout shake) without feeling the bloat and remainnig lean and somewhat ripped...

this equates to about 30 odd % of my daily cals and it's very doable :) especially if i eat 6 meals a day and have 3 P+C meals :)

possibly, just have a low gi source of carbs but not too much.
Actually when i went to the doctor about my insomnia they told me that carbs would help (They didnt know i was low carbing)
after reintroducing carbs i did notice better sleep. When low carbing i'd have a few ryvitas with cottage cheese. About 15g of low gi carbs altogether and it helped slightly
