I tend to agree with you. I'm inbetween cycles right now and wanted to lose as much BF as possible before starting on the next cycle. I'm about 230lbs right now at 11-13% BF. The goal is to get down to 190lbs at 7-8% and then hit the next bulking cycle, which will look something like this:

10 Weeks:

Weeks 1-5:
D-bol 50mg's ed
Test Enan 500-750mg's per week
EQ 500mg's per week

Weeks 5-10:
Tren/Prop 75/100mg's Eod
Test Enan 500-750mg's per week
EQ 500mg's per week

In between cycles I try not to stress my body too much. The keto diet seems like it will add alot of stress during a time when you should be recovering. When I am in between cycles I basically eat maintenance caloreis+-500K, I cut my lifting down to every other day, 3-4 times per week. However I always do cardio 6-7 times per week. This works out very well for me.

I wasted an entire cycle of steroids by trying to do it on a keto diet (thought, why not cut and build at the same time). NOT! A ketogenic diet is great for losing weight (including some muscle), shitty for putting on mass. You need the insulin spikes from carbos to put on muscle. Unless you add insulin to your steroid cycle, keto just doesn't work, because it keeps your blood insulin levels so low.

My next cycle (12 weeks after my first, same stuff) is WAY better with the added carbos.

However, thought that maybe you could consume stuff like honey only immediately post-workout to spike the insulin during the critical mass building time, but not enough to keep you out of keto...any thoughts?

A keto diet is excellent on a cutting cycle using the "stuff", I have never had a problem with it and in fact they helped me preserve muscle I normally would have lost. I prefer this type of diet for cutting over any others.

So, it would only be a waste if you are trying to add mass. And the diet is just not for the fat/obese.
