Keep my face looking young

What can I do to keep my face appearing youthful. I am 27, so I am not old yet, but I want to prevent the appearence of aging as much as I can. What sort of treatments, exercise, etc. work?

Don't smoke - nothing ages the skin like smoking.

Stay out of the sun and use sunscreen every day, even if you work inside all day.

I hate the look of being pale, so I wear sunless tanner. It sucks but it beats wrinkles. Surgery, laser resurfacing, peels, etc. can help, but all of these treatments will yield much better results if you work to minimize damage in the first place.

1. use a moisterizer every day

2. NEVER smoke!! it wrinkles the skin!

3. avoid sunburn---use sunscreen when tanning

4. get at least 7 hours of sleep every night, if possible

What about facial products like cleansers, toners, etc.? What is the difference between toner and astringent? What type of facial product routines do you all use? Sorry, I am very confused when it comes to this.

Toners and astringents usually contain some sort of alcohol or witch hazel. They get the oil off and make your skin feel cool and clean, but a lot of skin care books I've read (the ones written by dermatologists who aren't trying to sell you anything) said they're not necessary and don't really help in keeping down oil production. They can be drying to the skin and draining on the wallet, but some people swear by them.

Here's my skincare routine:
1) clean with mild cleanser like Cetaphil cleanser.
2) Vitamin C serum (like SkinCeuticals or Cellex).
3) daytime - sunscreen SkinCeuticals SPF 30 (Derm said this has enough moisturizer for my skin which is somewhat oily). At night I use light moisturizer (Cetaphil makes a good cream).
4) Use anti-aging/firming eye cream night and day (L'Oreal RevitaLift, I think).
5) Whatever you do to you face, also do to your neck. The neck can age faster than the face because the skin is very thin and people usually neglect it.
6) Aquaphor is the BEST lip moisturizer I've ever used.

I have microdermabrasion every few months, or mild peel like AHA.

I don't agree with the moisturizer suggestion, I've heard that oils will eventually make your skin sag. The best moisturizer is good ol' H2O! Check out www.lef.org, they've got a product called Rejuvinex (spelling?) my wife really likes.

Retin-A was good in my 30's, Rejuvenex was good in my 40's, but both of them burn my skin in my 50's. The only thing that works in my 50's is a 1/10 ratio of PCA and distilled water.
