Just had 2,000 calories worth of ice cream; comfort me!

I know I've told people to relax on these threads before, don't crucify yourselves. But here I am, just having binged like a heffer, and feeling the G-U-I-L-T!

I'm small. I just scarfed down my body weight in cookies & creme. Tell me I won't wake up with fat cells oozing all over my body! Like kudzu on trees in the South--just EVERYWHERE!

C'mon, pep talks please?!

It's a half gallon!

My diet is very high protein, moderate fat, and very little carbs.

So ... whoops.

Okay, ready for that comfort now???

I wouldnt worry too much about it just dont do it too often. An Occasional stomach full of carbs will keep your metabolism on its toes. I think youll be alright. Then again you might just wake up in the morning with a couple of extra chins:D

Great. A woman can never have enough chins.

See, the method to my madness was this: I've been eating badly (but not tooooo bad) for a while and I decided: aw hell, just have a ball. Then maybe you can be clean again.

But I feel so gross. More comfort!

5'2", 105 lbs, 28 years old, heavy lifting (5 days rest between muscle group), minimal cardio (used to do too much, now do too little).

C'mon, absolve me! I have sinned and need someone to explain in scientific detail why it's alright!

Are you sure? Do you have any scientific words for me? There is such comfort in them!

seriously though. Atleast with me Ive found that one night of binging is nowhere near as bad as a week of eating small bad meals. your body cant absorb that much food it will just excrete it. AS long as you get back on track NOW and stay that way youll be cool. If that doesnt make you feel better go running.

Doesnt it seem like there is no one else on the boards right now??

Yeah! And I am kind of mad! I am totally Miss Support when folks are berating themselves! Relax, I say, you're fine!

But when Buksoon is having a "I am disgusting" moment and needs some reassurance, only SoCo is there! Hmph!

you screan, i scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!!!!!!!

i have learned, through bitter pwesonal experience, to NEVER buy bluebell homemade vanilla ice cream by the gallon.

more than once i have sat cross-legged on the floor, in front of the tv, in my underwear, and ate the entire carton in one setting.

i don't even want to think about what that does to my blood sugar level!

I don't think I'll (oh, this is not the stuff of my usual conversations!) poop, though. Because, see, I pooped right before.

That's why I felt somewhat "entitled" to the binge. I figured it was going to happen sooner or later and my stomach was empty, so.....

But I think my body is keeping these calories. I can just tell.

I should mention that I took a couple alpha-lipoic acid tablets before. I always take 'em with high-G.I. foods. I heard it stabilizes the blood sugar and minimizes cellular inflammation.

I dunno. Can't hurt, I guess. ??

I eat like this once a week and it doesn't hurt me one bit........metabolism skyrockets...........now doing this competition time is a different story!!!

I always pig out at least once a week...............always get my protein in though. I don't think you will have a problem, as long as you don't make it a habit. Mint chocolate chip is my weakness

I have told myself i can pick one day every week or two to have whatever i want and it doesn't affect me...it really does help your metabolism stay on it's toes...so don't sweat it. You may have done your metabolism some good by doing that...hope that helps. We are all entitled to live life once and a while.

Calories are awesome for building muscle! You need calories to grow! Some high calorie dish is 10 times more anabolic then any steroid!@

:)

I go way worse than that every saturday, and I've still got a nice six-pack. Though it's usually a little harder to see on Sunday. Don't worry, you'll just keep your body guessing. It's good to do it every once in a while.

:fro:

I hate that GUILT feeling. I think we all have experienced this. You think that you want something so bad, then you binge. Then you are looking at your self in the mirror seeing fat that isnt there.
The trick is dont let that go on more than a few minutes. That self-defeating thinking can hold you back. Sometimes, I think, your body needs that blast of crappy food for 2 reasons. First, it revs up the metabolism. Especially, when you are eating clean on a regular bias. Second, I dont think it is good for you to deprive yourself of something that you "think" you want for too long. Because when you finally break down and eat the forbidden. You binge, and the cycle repeats over and over. Then you end up half nuts or worse-- Forgetaboutit

I think you can really make the guilt work in your favour....

If you've finally snapped and eaten something you shouldn't have, the way you're feeling about it now means your cravings for that food will be gone.... for a while, anyway. And since you're feeling so guilty, it's not like you'll cheat like that for a long time. Now you have extra motivation to diet really strictly, and keep it all clean.

Had you eaten that ice-cream and not felt guilty, what's to stop you eating it again tomorrow?

The guilt is a good thing.... you've given your metabolism a kick, you've kerbed the cravings for a while, and you've given yourself new-found motivation to diet properly.

Those 3 pros combined, outweigh the single con (2,000 extra calories) for sure.

Thank you so much, guys!

Daniel Bishop: Guilt might serve a higher purpose and be a worthwhile emotion?

Dude, you have to meet my Jewish mother! Do you like older women?

This is the reason why I take a free day every week----always sunday.

Keeps me going STRONG as hell through out the week

I don't feel deprived at all

I don't feel guilty for eating "bad" foods once a week

Free days for me are the reason why I have lost so much fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way I could go as long as I have--9 months, without food that I crave
