Just got back from The Dark Knight Rises

All in all was a good finale. More like the first (Begins) but also the biggest of the three in scope. In a way that's also its biggest flaw in regards to pacing and story. Often too ambitious even for the 164 minute runtime. It holds itself together for the most part, and there are definitely some epic moments.

I still think The Dark Knight had the best blend of everything, including the best villain in the Joker. Although he isn't as interesting, Bane does do a good job with what he has to work with, and dishes out some cringe-worthy pain.
Most of all though, Bale is at his best as both Batman and Bruce Wayne here. His story was best in Begins, but his character(s) dig deepest in this last one.

Saw it in D-Box (well implemented for fights scenes and chases, but Avengers still did it best so far) but will definitely go again for IMAX.

Exactly what I thought. For once I agreed on criticism with the pros. It just wasn't as cohesive and focused as the first two, but the production values and individual moments more than make up for it.

I actually saw it in a theater a few miles from the shooting. There was a little tension in the theater, a little somber as people walked out.

I thought it was good, although, I agree that they tried to pack a lot into the film. I thought Anne Hathaway (sp?) did a decent job. I'm not a huge fan of her. I dug how they humanized Bane in the end. One thing I've always liked about Batman is there is no real black and white when it comes to the characters. The good and evil aren't usually absolute.

Saw it on Thursday. Pretty good. It could have been just as good if they'd cut some of the fatty moments. Overall there were some awesome moments.

Nothing but resentment from me, though. I had to come up with a statement for the museum to use when people ask if we're changing any security measures after CO. Ughhhhhh.
