30,000 for Buckcherry???

i can see them here for the price of a beer.

metal > rock

Alot of people to see these bands, I thought it was kinda of ridiculous. I only recognized 5 songs the entire day. That type of rock isn't my "cup of tea". But it was still a pretty fun time.

i remember the old days when ONE band would draw 30,000 people.

Now record companies have to stick 20 bands to draw that. I wonder what that says about music today.

pff depends on your idea of metal? That screaming shit isn't what I call pure metal. gimme a band with screaming guitar with lyrics that I can actually understand and that will be a metal band.

REAL rock >>>>> metal any day

the days of the screaming guitar died 2 decades ago yo. where u been?

metal is the only genre left where people can still do solos and headbang.

that's why I don't consider any of the metal around now metal. :p

That's one thing I've never understood. Music execs think solos and screaming guitar are dated. How the hell can such a display of talent ever be considered dated. There's a reason why most people like metallica's earliest albums over their new ones. I think that version of metal died way too early.

Wow. I thought that Rockfest had been stopped years ago. I went to the first one at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in June '99. There were 120000 people there to see that one. There were more mainstream bands playing too: Live, Offspring, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Silverchair, Collective Soul, Better Than Ezra, Marvelous 3, Eve 6, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

I remember the second one was somewhere in the midwest, maybe Chicago in 2000(didn't go). I guess after 9/11 it may have been suspended until they thought it could be held safely and securely.
