Anyone else here with one of these???
I'm not usually the type to get a gadget with all kinds of stuff I can't figure out how to use (even if I needed any of it), but this Verizon Motorola Droid phone actually has stuff that I will use all the time... First, it has a touch screen outside, and a regular QWERTY keyboard that slides out, unlike the iPhone, which is touch-only. I never have luck with touch screens with tiny icons, as probably like most of us here, I have thick, calloused fingers. It also has a built-in navigation system, using live Google maps. And of course mp3 player, 5mp camera, and all the other stuff that regular phones have. For internet access, it's faster than my laptop on wifi, and it has icons on the screen to click right into facebook or eBay, etc. No opening a browser and trying to figure out where to go on a site to see a tiny square of the page that you can't read. The operating system is very similar to Apple.
Overall, I give this a B+, and maybe close to an A if I figure out a couple of fixes for little stuff that bugs me. The cost isn't bad, considering the rebates, loyal Verizon customer discounts, and all. It was $140 out the door, and the retail is around $550. (I have a 2-year contract, which I've renewed 3 or 4 times by now).
I was really close to getting an iPhone, but I'm so glad I didn't!!!!!!!! This is all the quality, more features, and a little less $$$ monthly.
