and anyway, i come to EF because i like it. i like the people, i like mucking around with people who dont take things too seriously, i like staying on track with my fitness program...that sort of thing. if you took my response to metzen as being some sort of intellectual bullying or egocentric attack, then you would be incorrect. I have found that the only way to argue with people whose argumentative style is limited to making statements is to take those statements apart, one by one, and htat is exactly what i did. get over it.

....... I, for one, do not believe something should be paid for unless it's providing benefits for a majority of the population instead of a select few. And it looks like a majority of America agrees with me. I suggest you do more research on the subject instead of getting pissed off because you really don't know much about it.

The argument was that the states for that went for Bush was less intelligent then the ones which went for Kerry. Now if a majority of the people who lived in the states that went for Kerry were smatter then everywhere else, don’t you think theirs states average IQ level would be higher because smart people live there?

a few things: 1) i have no idea what smatter is in this context and 2) no, you cannot assume that, because there is no indication of the intelligence of the rest of the population in that state. since the intelligence of the rest of the population is integral to the average intelligence across the state, your statement is wrong, and i do not agree.

You can reasonably conclude that each state has numerous intelligent people, instead of them all conjugating to the blue states, as the averages are just about even.

I think most people would define an idiot as someone who is mentally retarded. So if majorities of the population are idiots, then I guess most of us are retarded. However the states averages do not show that, instead they show each state with an equal amount of intelligence with the national average being 100. So if everyone in the red states is an idiot or they have more idiots will not theirIQ average be much lower then those of the blue states?

Your statement “idiots out number smart people” is false. As the IQ table’s show people with an IQ of 130+ and those with an IQ of 70- are both within the 2.2 percentile. Rather it would be people of average intelligence far outnumber those of a superior intellect and idiots combined. There are not 1000 geniuses for every 100000000 idiots because the statistics do not show that.
