isnt westside basically training specific areas on a powerlifting movement to get the most results? like floor press would be training the lockout of the bench, board presses for the middle of the bench. and the regular benchpress for the overall movement. ive noticed westide also trains specific areas of the squat and dead. i find this interesting i was always thhought to do full range of motion not neccesarly train SPECIFIC points in the lifts
 
WS will help you find what your weakness is in what movement and improve it. The floor press is much like the pause itself, the only difference is since you have your legs out in front of you, you can't get a leg drive doing them. With board presses most of the people that will benefit more are the ones that wear a shirt. IMHO if you can press a 3 board you can throw on a shirt and bench whatever your 3 board press best is as long as you know how to work the shirt to make the weight touch your chest. And for squats and deads it is very helpful especially while increasing lower back strength(if you don't fuck yours up like I did)

Westside works muscle areas seemingly without direct training. Delts and chest wil
l grow big and strong with all the benching with little if any direct attention to these muscles.
 
that's one of the best parts about the system, IMO - that it uses radical techniques to overcome weak points in a way that's impossible using the standard full-rom system.
 
Westside experts can also pinpoint a weak area in the first training session, for example if a lifter has weak lats and that is the weak point then more attention to the lats is needed.

Specializing on the weak point(s) the bench press is worked so it no longer remains a weak point and the bench press lift itself goes up.
