Is your belly growing?

Do you really think the thousands of calories you take in are all going to your chest, bi's, back and glutes?

Some of my buddies seem to be in denial about the fact that their mid section is growing and growing and growing even though they eat clean.

I have 3 questions here:
Are you in denial about the measurement around your umbilicus?
Would you be willing to tell us what that measurement is right now?
Do you know anybody who works out and claims to be a big guy but in reality he’s a fat guy?

im puttin on weight everywere except the kneck arms and face and its alot of fat. i put it down to access alcohol consumption as i drink beer all the time. and do little exercise apart from my workouts.

No.

Yes.

How you perceive your own body is usually different than how others see you. Does this mean you are in denial? Depends on what you really see in the mirror. For myself, I see an incredibly handsome, sculpted piece of perfection. So in my case, it is spot on, lol.

As to your friends growing, growing and growing mid-section despite the fact that they eat clean ... Diet is only one key part of the equation. I could sit around all day, stare at the walls and fill myself up with endless protein shakes. This does not mean that I am going to obtain a good physique. It only means that if I ever get kidnapped, they will be able to take a plaster-cast of the impression my fat arse made in the couch cushion to find me.

Healthy Diet + Physical Activity = Healthy Body

LOL...this is hilarious...

I have a buddy who's 6'3, 215lbs. Thinks he's in awesome shape. He's got about a 38 inch waist. He drinks beer ALL the time and runs alot.

It's worse because he doesn't lift any weights. Small arms, small legs, small chest, large waist.....you do the math.

tall guys with big frames and absolutely no muscle usually seem to think they're the shit. I guess growing up 'big' doesn't make people humble or realistic about the kind of shape they're actually in.

ok, getting fat is ridiculous but getting big requires a constant 'bulking' approach for me.. that means lots of cals, all the time. With my build I'll never have a girlish waist, 33" is the absolute smallest it's ever got and that was with all eight abs showing.

My waist is 35"ish, but my chest is 52-53" so it's all good.

I have always been skinny when I was younger. I had muscle to me, but small frame and low body fat. I have been lifting for 2 years on my current program(used to lift a lot before). I went from 140 to almost 180 now in that time(natural), and im 5'7".

I am starting now to see my waist grow a little more then I want it to. I have a 32" waist and my pants are getting real tight. I don't care too much, always wanted to be one of the thick guys, after hearing people call me skinny all my life :). I am basically power/strength lifting now and my body looks great. I really could care less about being ripped, I would rather be big and muscular. Everyone is accusing me of being on steroids because of all the muscle I gained. I just laugh and take it as a complement, I don't even use creatine.

Everyone has an image they want to attain. Some want a six pack and super definition, others like to look big and powerful. I do notice that most of the Powerlifters/Strongmen all have big stomachs.
