Is too much TUNA bad for your health????

right now im consuming about 2 cans of tuna/per day 5-6 days a week. I dont have much time to cook so what i usually do is steam a bowl of veggies and top it with a can of tuna and mustard...it sounds pretty yuky but i dunno i guess i got used to it besides it only takes 5 min. and its healthy. Sometimes after my morning work out i'll make 2 egg whites 1whole +1 can of tuna scrambled, its actually pretty good and a whole lot of protein.
So what i would like to know is if this is too much??

Well i think you can overdo anything ! If your happy w/ your current BF and such i don't see a problem with it. Omega's are the best Fats.I eat 6oz of salmon at night for last snack ! Just make sure you get a varity of the things you need, including Fiber /amino/vitmins ect................just to name a few!

thank you for your quick response chris..
this may sound silly but i was wondering if you can suffer from mercury poisoning?
The reason im asking is because a while back i had done a routine of blood tests and my iron was a little too high, so im thinking maybe that could be the reason.

What type of tuna are you eating?

Light tuna is very low in mercury, albacore is a bit higher.

Just get a mercury test. For years, I was eating 3 tins per day, and I'm only 5'6, and out of interest I got a mercury test - I was 5 times lower than the level of concern.

The benefits of fish outweigh the very insignificant risks of mercury poisoning, but to be sure, get a test.

I don't think there is any relationship between iron levels and tuna.

The health risks concerning mercury are overrated.

I read somewhere that its better to begin slow and keep increasing your tuna intake gradually as opposed to just chowing down 3-4 cans on day 1. Begin with 4-5 cans a week and take it from there.

salmon, halibut, sardines, albacore, trout, herring, walnut, flaxseed oil, and canola oil. Other foods that contain omega-3-fatty acids include shrimp, clams, light chunk tuna, catfish, crawfish, crab, lobster, cod, and spinach.

Thats pretty much the list bro. Would you like a recipe with one of them in it.
Also bro There is still 5000 different ways to use salmon that I am sure you have not thought of yet... People just need to learn how to cook and the rest is easy after that.

Just adding flax oil to some of your meals can give you the omegas you need
also I think people should look into adding Wheat germ into there diets to get
the omegas they need as well as protein. read up on why wheat germ is so good to use http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-wheat-germ.htm
or even adding wheatgerm oil to foods or cooking with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheat_germ_oil

I have a few good recipes using wheat germ that taste fucking great and are easy to make.
