Is Our Country (USA) Safer/Better After the War

Are the US citizens safer and better because we defeated iraq? . the whole purpose was to attack terrorism and obtain weapons of mass destruction. did we accomplish that? did we in any way prevent future terrorist attacks?

My opinion is no way. we are in much greater danger than before. this war made a lot of money for the bush administration and will likely get him re-elected, but a lot of americans are going to pay for it with their lives...

oh wait, i forgot. our purpose for the war shifted midway to freeing the iraqi people and not attacking terrorism and getting weapons of mass destruction even though bush testified in front of congress that iraq is a threat to world peace and their terrorism needs to stop...

About the same! Terrorism is "Kids Play" in the grand scheme of things! You have more to worry about from the "Big Boys" than you do from any terrorists! The war on terrorism is just a blip on the screen! They only breed "Terror!" Not actual total mutual destruction or a total take over!

Considering that we destroyed the Iraqi army in less than 3 weeks and only lost about 150 soldiers, I fail to see how Iraq could have ever been a threat to us to start with. If Saddam was so dangerous why was his army so damn ineffective? They couldn't even get one fighter plane off the ground! Lunatic Islamic terrorist groups are a greater threat but the Bush administration has failed to capture Osama. I don't think they are even trying to anything about Hamas and Hezbollah. If we dedictated the same resources to capturing Osama and friends I doubt he would still be missing. 500,000 soldiers can search a lot more caves in Afghanistan than the few that are over there now.

9/11 very conveniently played into its hands and if there needs to be another terrorist attack to justifty further warfare, there will be another very large one.

Gaining re-election is absolutely critical no matter the cost. Look for war or the inevitability of war to assure a GOP victory.


By the way, we are begging for more terrorism by taking Iraqs oil and sending it to Israel with the pipeline. I couldn't think of a more effective way to enrage the Arab world.

Exactly... We can destroy most militaries in the world quickly. That isn't the point. Militaries aren't threats to us. It's individuals that are a threat. We have to go out of our way to kill everyone that has any link to terrorism because it only takes one fucking guy with one weapon to do lots of damage. Just the other day I was near the Portland International Airport. A terrorist could have sat there with stinger missles and shot down 5 planes EASILY!!! How would he have gotten them here you may ask? Well there are thousands of shipping containers unloaded every day right next to the airport. That is the kinda thing we are up against.
