i swear i already replied to this thread..i guess im losing it.

weight lifting will increase your metabolism a lot, thus helping you burn fat. you should DEFINITELY do both, but in order to lose body fat you need to keep your calories below maintenance (but not too low, damnit!) and typically in order to gain muscle you would have to have an excess..
