Is it true that broccoli is negative calories?

Negative calories, meaning that your body burns more calories digesting it than the broccoli actually contains?

So, theoretically, I can eat about as much broccoli as I want on a cutting diet, and not have to worry about it getting in the way of fat burning?

Is this correct? Anybody help? :D

Negative calories foods is a theory. Sounds credible, makes sense but there's no concrete proof. No studies done. This is the way it goes: Broccoli is a low calorie food. It takes more calories to break it down and digest it than the broccoli itself provides. Even if it isn't a negative calorie food it's still a low calorie high fiber food, which is always good.

To answer your question yeah, you can eat it without feeling guilty on a cut, but like with everything else, moderation is key.
