They are all over the place since college is out and just when I thought they couldn't act more rude, they prove me wrong.
Is it me or do college kids in general lack respect towards others and manners?

Perhaps it's more that they are young people and not because they go to college. I work on a campus and I bounce, and I deal with shitheads that are going to school and shitheads that would have trouble with Dr. Seus' "Green Eggs and Ham". I also meet some really cool folks from both walks of life.

kids these days. damn whippersnappers have no respect.
I can remember back in the day when I used to have to walk to school, uphill both ways... barefoot in 3 feet of snow. and people would throw rocks at you. and you just had to learn to like it, because life was hard.
nowadays all those damn kids care about is that noise they call music and their dancing.
oh, and the oral sex.

j/k. Seriously though, I have noticed this big-time. Maybe it's because I work in an upper class area. I work retail and greet probably 100 customers a day. Most of the youngsters, won't say shit when I say hello. Maybe they're intimidated by me (yeah right, I'm a buck 70), but mostly they just think they are the shit. I'm 22 myself, by the way.

yes kids are fucking rude as shit, I was a trouble maker but I wasn't usually rude. I guess its how I was raised to respect elders and shit.

ohhhh, we're talking about college kids. I think as people age they learn more manners and stuff. it's the high school kids that have the respect problem.

A friend of mine is a teacher in a middle school and there are 1st thru 4th graders that sound like they could use a dose of......

That said, if they are no parental units to teach a child how to respect others (how could they really - I mean look at some of these so called parents it's like they were raised in a barn) how could we expect these children to grow up to be respectable adults with some sense of manners.

i don't know but i am thankful that my old man taught be to respectful. Quoting his words, "Be nice and behave or I will slap you so hard that you will bounce off the wall back into my fist."
I'm not sure if that is the best tactic but i have gotten many comments on how well mannered I am, so i think that's a good thing.

That's the truth.
You learn from those that you are around most of the time.
People today expect the school to teach their kids everything and when their kids get in trouble they want to blame everyone but the one who was responcible for raising that child. Themselves.
Maybe some of these "parents" need to look in the mirror when they want to know why their child acts the way he/she does.
