Impressive Squats from Melvin Anthony

Gentleman!!!!

WTF was that this is exactly what I am talking about listen don't get me wrong That is impressive and to say the least a bit contradicting....I am at the gym and constantly I see kids wrapped, belt sinched, wrist wrapped, nice plush bar pad, and this look on there face like they are going to die and they unrack the 685 and quarter rep it and they are not even as big as you think they are but yet you have a guy (myself) who is taking it to the pocket...and the theory is..........You are going to have some really big glutes..... when you see a key figure like this, bodybuilder/role-model doing this it sends a message to kids just starting out or guy who are not well informed.... squat like this you get like that..........

Seems to me the powerlifters/strength athletes are always trying to sway people from the bodybuilding way of things on this forum. I don't care if some 170lbs with toothpick legs can squat 600lbs ass to the floor. Sure, it's impressive but their legs arent, compared to, say, Melvin Anthony's. Some of us train strictly for bodybuilding, and while strength increases are a definitely a good way of measuring progreess, I'd rather see an increase in thigh circumference than do some powerlifting routines.

Thats what I am talking about!!! I am glad somebody realizes this!

i still don't know the difference between an oly squat and a regular one

I am imp[ressed with the olympic lifters and the melvin guy but I really think that the people who impress me the most are those who have perfect form with the longest ROM

CoolcolJ, Are you joking? :D
I mean, most people here have seen your pictures...I don't know who you're comparing your legs to but most of the people I know who bodybuild seriously (not for competition but as a lifestyle) have quads/hams that couldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as yours. Don't take this as a flame, just saying things how I see them.
