What are some games that I should buy? I like stuff like "Resident Evil" and Onimusha Warriors". Adventure/Action games & the like. Or is X-Box better? I basically need something to pass some time, and I'm going to buy one of them. Can you guys recommend games for PS2 or even for X-Box if that's the overwhelming majority favorite as far as sytems go? Thanks guys!:shoot: :destroy: :chesty: :fistfullo :theranger :mp5: :jamesbond

Based on the titles you named, I think you'd also enjoy Silent Hill 2. It's a little more cerebral than your average survival horror game (Freudian symbolism, mythology tie-ins, etc), but it's definitely fun and scary as all hell. If you reeeally want to kill some time, pick up Final Fantasy X. There's at least 50 hours worth of gameplay, not including sidequests, and plenty of documentation and help online at www.gamefaqs.com. Some authored by yours truly. ;)

And yes, Virginia, I am a closet video game nerd.

Residant Evil COde Veronica X, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid2, Final Fantasy 10 (fav PS2 game) Onimusha 2

i'm a sports fan, so i like madden, nba, etc.

if u have friends, i highly recommend multitap and get james bond agent under fire. For just total fun, get Grand Theft Auto 3. The THING is also getting high marks these days. Simpsons Road Rage is great, kinda like Crazy Taxi.

OOOOOoooo "The Thing " eh?! I did see the previews for that one. Pretty cool flick, and if the game mirrors the plot of the film, then it should be pretty cool as well. I think I'm going to go with Onimusha 2, The Thing, and Silent Hill 2. I remember seeing the previews for that game(SH2) several months ago, and it looked quite scarey. Thanks ladies & gents!

Yes, X-box is better. Way better. Playstation 2 may have more titles but X-box is just getting warmed up with its games. I would go for Halo (of course), Morrowind (time killer), Outlaw Golf, Dead to rights, project gotham, madden 2003 etc.

If you like playing games online I would recommend X-box even more strongly. Go to xbox.com and read up about Xbox Live.

There's always got to be some asshole who chimes in "my system is better than yours." They're all good, damn it.

If you like Resident Evil, get a Game Cube. RE1 was revamped and released for it. Plus, you can play all the great games coming out and here like Mario, Zelda, StarFox, Metroid, etc.

Stick with the PS2 and you have PLENTY of stuff to pick from and lots to look forward to. The modem was just released, they have Final Fantasy x, Tekken Tag and 4, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo A-Spec, plus upcoming games like Shinobi and more.

These two systems have lots of established companies backing them. Microsoft, think is an unsafe bet due to it's lack of 3rd party companies who are established and it's lack of games currently out. It's all you, though. Halo is really one hell of a game--especially multi-player. The controller really sucks, though.

Yeah, there's good games on all 3 top consoles. That sucks! I love Halo, GTA3, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc. and all these titles are on different consoles.:bawling:

Yeah, they are all good. But when it comes down to it X-box is the better system. Have you ever noticed when a came comes out on 3 different systems, the x-box always gets the best rating? I own PS2 and X-box and my playstation 2 is literally collecting dust. Granted GTA 3 was fun, but after a month or so of playing it, it gets very old.

The system also came out later but not so later that it didn't have time to crank out some good games which isn't the case. At this rate, you'll get a hit game once every 6 months. Let's just see how much dust the PS2 will be collecting once Grand Theft Auto: Vice City comes out and will available to other systems only after several months--that's right MONTHS!

Devil May Cry 2, Tekken 4, Final Fantasy XI (with internet play), Shinobi, and more are coming out. Don't tell me PS2 is dead...Sony's been in the game a lot longer.

These games are just off the top of my head but NOTHING comes to mind for XBOX except for Halo 2. I can't see Microsoft riding the halo gravy train for long. Personally, i'd buy both a PS2 and a Gamecube and play the multiplatform games on the cube. It produces just as good graphics, despite the tech numbers. The controller is better and on a personal note, those little discs are cute!

I dont know if I would call Halo 2 "on the horizon" since its not coming out till the end of next year. X-box has some great games on the horizon. The Thing is looking very nice on the x-box. Brute Force is coming out exclusively for X-box and I must say it looks fantastic. Tom Clancy's splinter cell is coming out next month. Sega gt 2002, blinx the timesweeper,X-men: next dimension, Shenmue 2. etc. All on the horizon.

P.S - I like to say horizon.

Horizon,
Mickey Knox

I don't know...those games just don't really excite me. Are they all XBOX exclusives?

I'd really like to try out Turok now...Anyone play Turok?

ive seen dudes play grand theft auto and seem to enjoy it, ive even watched lol, its pretty nasty ;) the dude beats up hookers and takes their money :ee2:

I heard its best for renting, but not for buying. People who like the original turok will like it. But it has no replay value.

Did U guys know RARE is on the market?

For PS2 there are tons of great games.

If you're on a budget the back catalogue has great games for cheap prices...ie Drakan, Devil May Cry, Jak and Daxter.

Current games like Madden 2003, Onimusha 2, and Socom are great. Especially online, if you have the network adapter.

Games coming up like Timesplitters 2 and Red Faction 2 should be cool too.

nb: I have The Thing on pc......don't buy it. If you hve to try it, RENT it first.:)

Rented it on XBOX last weekend. It's pretty good although I haven't made it real far.

The multiplayer is pretty intense when you get 3-4 people running around a board with weapons galore!

THAT is what i'm most interested in. The single player Turok feature for the N64 game wasn't great but 4 player was SWEET. It was by far the best multi-player game at the time, next to Mario Kart.

Now, Halo reigns supreme so I just want to know how Turok compares against it.

Halo single player (or cooperative multi) = 10
Halo multiplayer death matches, teams = 7
Turok single player = 8
Turok multiplayer = 10

That's my opinion rated on 1-10, 10 being best.

Thanks alot guys! I appreciate it. I guess Im not going to go with "The Thing", since brother wasn't too impressed. I'll post later what I got I guess.

Since you're going to post what you're about to buy, I'll post mine: Going to pick up my Sony 57" widescreen HDTV here in a few minutes. Dang I can't wait to get home and hook the ole XBOX up to it! (not to mention watching a porno on a HDTV 57"!)
:p

Zerxes you'll have fun with whichever console you decide upon.

TripleV's posts here and elsewhere...

I just travel from thread to thread looking at that fine fine fine ass icon of yours ...

:p :p

What was the subject? Oh, yeah....GTA3 and if ya wait a few weeks, GTA4 is coming out....should be a blast if you're a regular sick puppy like the rest of us

I also pulled a Wilma Flintstone and bought a huge 4 piece setional living room couch, with two folding recliners, as well as a new Computer Workstation & Chair, and a Foldout Coffe Table!:jump: Ka-Friggin-Ching over here.
