I'm a victom of credit card fraud for the amount of $900+ dollars

never saw the advantage of a debit card. most credit card companies will reimburse you for the full amount of a fraud charge; not so with debit cards.

all you gotta do is pay the sukka off EVERY billing cycle.

all to many peeps in this modern world lack the disipline needed to do this simple bookkeeping item... :(

fixing credit takes time. Pay your bills on time is the best advice I can give you.

Yea, but there really is no point in it. As I said I've had fraud on two accounts, one with the protection, one without. The outcome was the same.

Generally speaking its pretty easy to detect the fraud if your registered address is in OH and someone in CA just spend 5k on a computer and is having it shipped to CA. Also, if you regularly put 2k a month on plastic and do something out of the ordinary as putting 5 or 10k on a card in one day they will call just to be sure.

My Amex is set to have me vocally confirm any purchases over 5k at any one time. They do that for free.

That insurance is more for people that open new accounts in your name.. get your routing + accounts number and print checks.. buy cars in your name etc..

Happened to my boss last year... Turned out he had bought an 4.8i BMW X5 but he didn't know it. Someone in Chicago bought the truck then shipped it over seas. They never caught the guy/girl who did it.

What I don't understand is why can't I get a card from one of these companies (visa, mc, amex) that wont allow anything to be purchased on-line that isn't shipped to my billing address. I requested this when I got my cc and was told its not an option. Its like cc companies WANT fraud to happen.

This was a serious pro job, was not done on a CC they took out a loan in his name.

My BOA card got hacked somehow. The only place I use it is online which is scary too. I've only used it on three sites over the past year so at least I can narrow it down. They caught all of the transactions though so I am good. :)

Try $12,000! It got cleared up though through Capital One after a letter with id proof to them as well as each of my credit bureaus.

Now I have to keep an eye out on my credit report.

Damn...12K.

I can't believe how quick all of this got fixed for me though. It was fixed before I knew they charged my card lol
